Man, they are getting really good at duplicating their releases. It’s sort of annoying.

I’m also sorry to learn of this news. Very sad. If you want to talk about it, shoot me an email and I’ll talk to you about it. If you want.

I recently lost my father last year to lifelong addiction to alcohol. So my sister and I had to do all his arrangements and split his belongings and all of that, as he had no will. These things usually come out of nowhere, but it sounds like you had a least a little time to plan for this?

I agree with you there Arthur. I’m not fond of it, but I do respect it. Is Billy not comfortable just wearing pants and a shirt though?

The early date doesn’t seem too suspect to me. I mean, wouldn’t a master CD be created early? I see his website too Arthur, but that does not really convince me. I could make a website saying I make master CDs for all sorts of clients too. Seems like a lot of work, but his website sucks and if you do it long enough, it would pay for itself. Flipside, he also has a few promotional CDs that he didn’t create, but he has them. They seem pretty rare and collectible.

What the fuck is going on with this guy!!!!!!!

Man, Billy is going to turn 41 soon. Why the costumes? It’s verging on disturbing now….

Agreed. The Deftones one is actually printed right on the CD.

Some of the other items he has for sale say Warner Music Mexico on them.

I’m leaning towards this being an official CD, however, not really sure why Warner would ask this random guy in Mexico to create a master CD for them. They can do that in the home offices. Why would this guy get that job??? Just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

that’s a good theory. maybe he copied the description of another auction and forgot to change the "saturday night wrist" to "tarantula".

has anyone contacted the seller about this? if this is just a simple mistake, we can find out fast.[/quote:17v81s12]

I have not contacted the seller yet. I probably will, but might be a couple of hours. You want to try? We should also see if he has multiple CDs for sale like this.

Arthur, I don’t think you’d have much success ripping any version of this CD. I don’t know a lot about this, but, like you said, it’s highly protected. Not to mention, anyone willing to sell this CD to you has their name attached w/i some sort of coding to the songs. If you downloaded and spread around the community, (assuming songs are different), you’d be jeopardizing that person’s integrity.

I think this is more of a concern before the album is released though. Whatever happens, just be careful. I wouldn’t go cutting holes in the cardboard either. To me, that would bring the value down.

I wouldn’t have the balls to open one of the cardboard envelopes!

Saturday Night Wrist is the name of the latest Deftones album. I think the seller accidentally listed this in the auction, as it has absolutely nothing to do with Tarantula.

My mind is a disturbing place. I suggest the chinese water torture.[/quote:3s5uchq3]
Naaah, you’re too friendly. Some people train on that and start liking it. Sticking needles everywhere in his body and randomly start scratching his bones sounds like more fun to me. I’m in the mood to do anything for that promo. 8)[/quote:3s5uchq3]

Sensory deprevation. Best torture ever. All you need is a room, oven mitts, duct tape, and a blindfold. After 3 days or so, complete insanity.

Also, I’d leave that shit sealed as well.

Oh, hell no. LOL. It was on eBay. Looks like a CD-R. Not even sure if it comes in a jewel-case or not. The UK version I have not actually seen for sale, other than preorders. The promo however, is on it’s way as we speak. :D[/quote:1uy60uo7]
do you still have a link to the ebay auction? or to a picture of the cd?[/quote:1uy60uo7]
