i once received a box of love from my grandma, mostly. but it was signed by her, her husband (my grandpa), my father, and my uncle. three of which are no longer part of my earthly reality. they exist only in my brain imprints. strong, branding imprints.

one of the best gifts i’ve ever been given. it had sealed love inside and was wrapped in red ribbons and signed by all four. i’ve not opened to this day, to preserve the love inside. the note said that if i ever needed to feel loved, all i had to do was open the box and the love would be felt. i think i would perhaps go to my grave holding the box than let that love dissipate into the air (or my heart, as it were).

i do not know where it is though. which is a bit of a tragedy. i think it’s at my parent’s house.

there is another interview out now (i think in NME) where he calls james iha a piece of shit and jimmy a fucking liar. in the same interview, he talks about how lucid courtney love was back in the 90s and that she essentially convinced him to be the anti-hero of rock, as all other archetypes were filled (i’m paraphrasing).

i finally realized the tie in to wrestling. everyone loves to hate a bad guy, and that is what he has made himself into. the thing to realize, is, he is only a character. we may never really know who billy corgan the person is. i imagine he’s a very interesting, intelligent person. he sure has a lot of balls to put up with the amount of shit thrown his way his entire career. there is, however, something a little fake about inventing a character to display and channel your music/band through. it seems artificial. a little pointless and dare i say immature.

but at least, at the VERY least, he has always stood for something. the one thing he stands for, to me, is making quality music. i’m not convinced he’s pushing anything radical forward anymore. apparently there is a new genre called dubstep that everyone likes to namedrop. whatever. but when i put on a sp record, it resonates with me, as many other bands and records and songs do. it’s just that with him, almost 100% of it resonates.

i’m that way with phil collins, white stripes, earlyish deftones, muse, all american rejects, and radiohead. probably some more in there, but those are the cool ones i always come back to. in my 6 CD changer in my car, i have 5 of those artists now.

i think that is joe’s hand holding the tape from outside the metro last night. geo snagged the pics. i don’t know where the songs come from, but i guess that makes sense.

    ^^ it’s disillusioned/messed up youth culture – it’s twisted, it’s Jack White…[/quote:3euygjik]

Like many compelling pieces of art, it prompts the question of what, if any, "meaning" the creator intended with the story and images. Here, director AG Rojas from Caviar Content explains it: "It’s about how awkwardly beautiful it is to be young, even if you don’t always realize it at the time."

    Simple.

Rojas elaborates: "I wanted to create a video that forced you to revisit it a few times in order to grasp all the little details. Each vignette tells its own story, some resolving themselves in two or three shots; some being more abstract."

Indeed, there is a lot to take in during the less than three-minute runtime of "Sixteen Saltines." In addition to the fate of Jack White, the lone adult to be found anywhere in the video, there’s a cavalcade of kids to follow around, all engaged in various mysterious misdeeds. Whose severed finger is lying on the playground? Will that kid asphyxiating himself succeed? Is that tattoo being applied voluntarily? The insubordination even extends to the laws of physics: One boy refuses to obey gravity.

"The video is just my reaction to the energy and paranoia of the track," Rojas says. "Some people are calling it ‘bizarre’ or ‘disturbing,’ but it actually seems like a fun world to live in to me."

i received my hoodie yesterday and the two necklaces today. i’d say topspin is doing a fine job.

also, regarding the necklaces, they are heavier than i initially thought. pretty stout and heavy. i may don one, one day, but for now, both my children are wearing them. :)

    i cannot explain to you
just exactly why we are through
    your touch used to soothe
but now you’ve nothing to prove

    given up on me
    something you cannot see
    given up like a tee
broken in half by a mulligan swing

i launched you onto the green
like happy gilmore on the screen
    i made the putt, accordingly
you broke to the left, how silly of me
