manillascissorKeymasteryeah, the red is strong and beautiful, and there is some 1-2% black marbling going on. similar to the teargarden 7\"s.
i don’t have any other colors and can’t afford them right now. will have to wait.
i think my black 1st edition also contains some black marbling, but it could just be the original black. it’s hard to discern.
i can scan my first and second pressings, if i can muster the energy. i’ll use this thread’s (mostly bram/geo) research to write out the explanatory text. please review for accuracy!!!
manillascissorKeymasterthanks
manillascissorKeymasteryeah, i’m waiting for an audio rip of the vinyl. i mean, i purchased 4 copies, but i don’t have a record player (atm) or any way to rip the music. i’m excited to hear the \"music\". i might like it, i might not. not too concerned, i am a fan of billy corgan and don’t mind supporting his efforts. i will say it’s getting harder and harder though. like waiting for someone to grow up and then just having to walk away at some point.
manillascissorKeymasterSorry guys, this is the biggest crap I heard this year.
Puffy owns Bad Boys, is asked to do some remixes, for some reasons it is decided to not release them in the Adore era. However, now one of the remixes makes it into the reissue track list. So, what does this tell us? Puffy cuts all middlemen and can talk for himself & Billy’s label, then and now, has no issues releasing a Puffy remix. So it weren’t the 2 labels making things (more) difficult.
It was either a cultural (there was a lot going on around Puff Daddy, Notorious Big, Tupac etc. in those years), a financial or an artistic disagreement, I guess. With only one label involved.[/quote:2ygdgk0q]
it’s not crap. we’re not saying anything other that what you are.
puffy does remixes (either approached or not). remember, billy’s eye demo was originally intended for a collaboration with shaq.
so, perhaps there is no agreement for whatever reasons, as arthur suggests in ’98 (minus the biggie/tupac feud, which had blown over, and had no bearing to SP at the time).
so now it’s 2014. i’m not sure how that works, but now it’s cool. so whatever. two record labels are still involved and for reasons we will never know, it’s being released.
why is this such a big drama?
manillascissorKeymasteri think you’re right, manilla.
maybe this is one of the reasons the remixes were never released: they weren’t on the same label, which made it harder to agree.[/quote:nwx440u3]true that
manillascissorKeymasteralso, fuck puffy. what a joke he is. if these were any good, they’d have been purchased by virgin and released.[/quote:2y1zcv0v]
isn’t this remixing always a record label thing? as in: a band always gets remixed by artists who are on the same label? i bet puff daddy was also on virgin back in 1998.[/quote:2y1zcv0v]fairly certain he’s been with bad boy records since the early 90s. doesn’t he own the label?

manillascissorKeymasterTwo more eBay scores:
– Tristessa 7" on Greg vinyl
[/quote:l6gcpbha]
i still don’t have the greg version.
– Siamese Dream 2lp vinyl HUT White label Promo.
[/quote:l6gcpbha]
that’s the most impressive score i’ve seen in some time. nice work
manillascissorKeymasteryeah, he tweeted about it, very recently. him saying he had no idea might be a bit of a misunderstanding. like, he had no idea these promos existed, not the fact that he (puffy) had mixed the songs. it’s quite obvious he knows that, and RECENTLY.
also, fuck puffy. what a joke he is. if these were any good, they’d have been purchased by virgin and released.
manillascissorKeymastermonte is such a douchebag
manillascissorKeymasterso the "for cd-single use only, at rabbit in the moon’s request" means to me that RITM had the say of whether or not he wanted to use his mix and distribute it out. does he like it? is he proud of it enough to put it on a single? if he wants it on there, he needs to request it and we’ll include it.[/quote:35elbjeh]
interesting. but i’m reading it differently.
wouldn’t it have said "for cd-single use, at rabbit in the moon’s request only" or ""for cd-single use, only at rabbit in the moon’s request" if it meant what it means to you?
i gave it some more thought, and the way i read it, is that ritm requested that this was only to be used for the cd-single. so if there ever was a vinyl single, this should not be included. or if they were ever looking for teitbite remixes for a compilation cd, this remix shouldn’t be used. cd-single only. at the request of the artist.
does that make sense?and i’m going to assume that this 5-track promo cd-r is indeed the only known cd source of this remix. until i heard of this cd, i thought this track was vinyl-only.[/quote:35elbjeh]
i am with you CAIC as per the reading of the "cd-r only" request.[/quote:35elbjeh]
yep, makes sense.
manillascissorKeymasterThis may be old news, but I was listening to this in the car earlier and Quasar comes up on my stereo screen as Quasar-stella p and the people mover.
I thought the latter part had been dropped?
Derek, have you heard this album yet?
[/quote:1moa1fz9]
lol i can provide an update: yes!

manillascissorKeymasterSo I was at a record store in Seattle today looking for Pumpkins records and the manager told me they have a Tristessa 7" test pressing, have had it for about two years.
I asked to see it and he told me he didn’t know exactly where it was (odd I thought), but that he planned on selling it soon. Anyhow he told me he’d contact me here soon when he digs it up.
How much is a fair price for this record?
Thanks![/quote:3bu8v9xq]
$500-1000. see if you can grab for $500.
also,
HOLY SHIT!

thanks! a rare, uplifting poem from yours truly.
manillascissorKeymasterin the mean time, what’s everyone’s take on the other points i touched?
Also, have you noticed how next to track 5 (the radio edit), it says "for cd-single use only, at rabbit in the moon’s request"? What is meant by that? What other uses could they have considered, besides cd-single use? I’ve noticed this track is also available on several vinyl releases, so I guess that’s not what they meant.
And while we’re on the topic of TEITBITE remixes, I think this 3-track cd-r release should also have its title changed to "The End Is The Beginning Is The End (Remixes By Rabbit In The Moon & Hallucination)" – just like the 5-track cd-r: http://www.spfreaks.com/?page=COLLDETAILS&item=168
And why is this cd-r listed as a UK release, but is the 5-track one that looks very, very similar, listed as a US release? Wouldn’t it make more sense if these came from the same place?[/quote:2pbfpv73]
am i correct in thinking that this would be the only known cd (or non-vinyl) source for the "rabbit in the moon’s melancholy & the infinite dub" remix?[/quote:2pbfpv73][/quote:2pbfpv73]
so the "for cd-single use only, at rabbit in the moon’s request" means to me that RITM had the say of whether or not he wanted to use his mix and distribute it out. does he like it? is he proud of it enough to put it on a single? if he wants it on there, he needs to request it and we’ll include it.
as for UK vs US, it looks HIGHLY US to me. personal opinion.
until you hear that mix, it could just be a working title for a mix that is already out there. don’t know until eazye121 provides a rip.
that’s my take!
