marigoldSpectatorWhen all else fails though, if all seems lost; I spin up Gish and the world’s ‘perfect’ once again.

This morning I was listening to a live CD from 1993 –

Iha: It’s of course always nice to be back in France. Whenever… whenever we break a string it gives us a small time to talk about ourselves. How much fish
Corgan: Does anyone know how to change a guitar string? It’s very embarassing. So speaking of fish, this is off our debut album ‘Fish'[/quote:11xo3wnp]yeah um Teargarden…. my EP should be arriving in the post today – finally! I like it better than the first EP – and from the sounds of it, the vinyl is better quality too.
marigoldSpectatorI just think they’re overrated. Just as U2 (uuuuh, that Bono creep!) and Iron Maiden.[/quote:3dvs5xyg]
I’m going to see U2 on Friday
I wish I was going to see Muse again, they missed out NZ this time – only Australian dates this December. And 2 concerts each for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne too…
They sure can put on a decent live show.[/quote:3dvs5xyg]
… and Muse are supporting U2 on their South American tour
marigoldSpectatorI think its alright.
It is basically a b-side.[/quote:22jb37j3]
Agree. But it doesn’t reach the quality of this b-side (of Disarm).[/quote:22jb37j3]
Definitely not reaching the quality of Soothe, it sounds like a round-the-campfire song.
marigoldSpectatorIt is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems and suffer and understand, for all that is life.

marigoldSpectatorU2 – Sunday Bloody Sunday
I can’t believe the news today
Oh, I can’t close my eyes and make it go away
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long, how long
Cause tonight, we can be as one tonightBroken bottles under children’s feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I won’t heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wallSunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody SundayAnd the battle’s just begun
There’s many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apartSunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody SundayHow long, how long must we sing this song?
How long, how long
Cause tonight
We can be as one
Tonight, tonightSunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody SundayWipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Sunday, bloody Sunday
Oh, wipe your bloodshot eyes
Sunday, bloody SundaySunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody Sunday
Sunday, bloody SundayAnd it’s true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die(Sunday, bloody Sunday)
The real battle just begun
To claim the victory Jesus won
OnSunday bloody Sunday, yeah
Sunday bloody Sunday
marigoldSpectatorU2 tonight!!!
That’s Muse, Jakob, SP, U2 this year – a good year for concerts.
Actually if Muse could just make a little trip over the Tasman Sea next week…
marigoldSpectatorthis is a live version of Cottonwood Symphony, I wonder how different it is now?

marigoldSpectatorIf you follow, let him lead you
He will take you out of this masked life
Into reality and waking you up
From a cycle of death and rebirth
Opening your eyes to another world
Another plan that has been in the making
For as long as we have breathed
Look back into the past and you’ll see
That the only choice we have left
Is to leave
marigoldSpectatoruh oh – 2 different vinyls!!!!
j/k, I think its the front and back of the vinyl
The constellation chart looks cool. What is on the CD sleeve? A caterpillar? I don’t understand all the artwork connections. Maybe it’s another machina mystery.
I’ve ordered mine, but I think it’s gonna take about 2 weeks to get here.
marigoldSpectatoro_O
marigoldSpectator<<^^ that was a good one
………………………………………
A sense of knowing, distorted meaning
The simple truth found in eternity
An understanding of returned feeling
A shared sympathy buried in dignityIn knots and riddles, going round in circles
Wrapped up in traditional fashion
Illustrated examples of perfect symbols
Taking an alternative directionSomething that so easily defies the mind
Influential words from a distant voice
Presenting a static view of time
Too far away to even see a choiceThe zeros make another appearance
Disillusioned by what they have seen
Something awoken, taking a chance
To relive an era from their dreamsJoining tribal echoes that match their own
marigoldSpectatorI just think they’re overrated. Just as U2 (uuuuh, that Bono creep!) and Iron Maiden.[/quote:2v1d9162]

marigoldSpectatorMuse
U2
Sting/The Police-although with all of these I like their older stuff better and not too excited about what they are releasing next.
marigoldSpectatorA path to guide the silent
A flashback distant
Forget about the time
A lifetime wilted awayIs that where you stand
Overlooking everything
Summing up the glories
Seeing what’s aheadThe days go marching on
As the ants march uphill
Bearing weights of the world
Going in the same directionForward thinking, forward march
Never changing their form
It’s the madness of today
As their eyes turn to look away
marigoldSpectatorThat’s all you get
One window of opportunity
And before it closes
Take your chanceMake the most of it
Don’t wait too long
It’s shattering now
The glass is free
marigoldSpectatorI haven’t ordered mine yet. Need to buy something else as well to justify the ridiculous postage costs. Just not sure what else to get right now.
Looks like there’s no extra obelisk or whatever with this one. Or maybe it’s a surprise!
marigoldSpectatorTo RBD:
A dedication to the past
The lyrics and the songs
Finding hidden treasures
They were buried long agoMake a record of it now
To fill in all the gaps
One by one others join
Adding their own pieceMysteries revealed
The puzzle put together
Trials and tribulations
The history now sharedThis small part of the legacy
Many more stories to be found
Your commitment is so awesome
And it’s also mighty wyrd
marigoldSpectatorStepping out of the dark
Envisioning your songs
The mastery of melodies
Is where your heart belongsA mischievous twinkle lies
Behind that vampire grin
These sonnets of yours
Born from passion withinSeeking out a new theme
A kaleidyscope of tunes
An ode to past heartaches
Or a voyage to the moonAnd where you find your freedom
There’s more beyond the stage
It’s your choice to continue
No longer the rat in a cageSo send a message to the world
A timeless story you build
Of mysteries and gentle myths
To ensure your fate is fulfilled…to be continued, perhaps.
no prizes for guessing who that’s about.
marigoldSpectatorwhoah, that IS a little pricey!
marigoldSpectatorshe treads the waves
sailing from the dawn
with a dragon-shaped prow
silver wings on the bowsa journey headed east
beyond the lonely isles
where secret creatures wait
for their chance to be freethe voyagers go ashore
hearing drumbeats and voices
a magician’s spell is cast
what was hidden now revealedso the travelers sail on
and unbeknown to them
the Kraken sleeps below
dwelling in the deepbut the real perils lie ahead
not for the faint-hearted
sea-serpents and sleeping giants
emerging and transformingthe battles are not lost
for the warriors of the sea
they show their strength of spirit
with the help of a little magictheir onward quest
to seek the very end
but the journey doesn’t end
where sky and water meet
marigoldSpectatorIt’s that time again
For the freaks to appear
In costumes and masks
To surprise and cause fearOut of the shadows
With a gruesome face
A Thriller zombie
Now keeps up the paceA witch on her broom
A scary masked clown
Demons, ghosts and skeletons
A devil with his frownAnd at the end of the night
They’ll all disappear
To return to this place
And haunt again next year
marigoldSpectatorAs the ghosts bide their time
Waiting for the night
When they can walk between worlds
Enter the land of the living
Remembering their past
And find themselves again
They got lost along the way
But here once again
Discovering their truth
They can move on
marigoldSpectatorFollowing the waves
Of the soul’s journey
Don’t get caught up
In the tempests of the nightAnd those who’ve lost their way
Will try to drag you down
Every time you’ve done your best
To try and heal their woundsWhat the dawn brings
You can never know
But sail on with hope
And leave the past behind
marigoldSpectatormight be using the spfreaks chat now that the electropopmedia chat has been killed off. Some of us from the oboard just can’t use the fancy technology (audio and video) on the new tinychat room.
marigoldSpectatorno, not from you!
but thank you – it’s more about the whole economic crash, and the drive for profit, which is unsustainable in the long run (we keep going backwards). But I ‘borrowed’ a few words and lines from some songs I know. -
