    A journey takes you back
    To the beginning of self
    The original plans and possibilities
Saying farewell to a tired lie

    A lie you tell yourself

    Searching for the elusive answer
Keys to the depth of mind
Drive to the end to find
    A reason to go on

    How the desolate waste beckons

All is dead beyond thought of life
Weary eyes look at the pitiless sun
    A fearsome silence reigns
    The quiet storm brewing underneath

Keep on treading the tiresome path

    Leave the transient world behind
    Tempted by false hopes
    Illusions and imperfections brought with
As baggage to weigh you down

The constant journey of change goes on

    Ancient symbolism
    Awaking the mind
    Open your eyes and see
You’ll be surprised at what you find

    Glaringly obvious
    But what do they mean?
    What’s the message behind them?
Is it some kind of scheme?

    Innocently brainwashed
    They don’t have a clue
    Every one of them blind
    Those who understand are few

    Carefully designed
    The artists do their best
A wink at those who know
A waiting game for the rest

    Mysteries to be revealed
    What secrets do they hold?
    Apocalyptic prophecies?
Or truth and wisdom to unfold…

    Well I’m sitting here
    Wondering to myself
If the dream can find you
I don’t need to remind you

    Well I’m thinking here
    Musing to myself
How the ghosts can haunt you
Just let the night guide you

    Well I’m writing here
    Keeping it to myself
I’ll get the answers to help you
Ask the stars to invite you

    Well I’m choosing here
    Decisions for myself
And the change will allow you
Just wrap the ocean around you

Going to see New Zealand band ‘Jakob’ this weekend.

They’re opening for an Australian band called The Butterfly Effect – who don’t sound too bad.

    lying in the stillness
    the icy air creeps in
    chilling you to the bone
    feeling of frozen skin

    a window left ajar
    lets in the winter air
    and with it broken memories
    times of trouble and fear

    a blanket wraps around
    and the warmth slowly grows
    comforting in the presence
    of the past’s dark shadows

    knowing things will change
    better times to be seen
the first steps to be taken
to go where you have never been

    Some acrostic stuff.

    Where has the time gone
A long stand out in the rain
    In melted moments
    The impatience grows
    Inside a worn out memory
    Never to be forgotten
    Gaining hour by hour

    Eyeless tears fall
    Making droplets over
    Ornate paper shapes
    Torn up into shreds
    Inside folded hearts
    Origami of sorts
    Never opened again

    Where the demons lie
    Awaiting grave consequence
    Sneaky skeleton grins
    Taking its toll
    Eliminate the evidence
    Don’t go back for more

    Great explosion bursts
    All of a sudden
    Little bits of confetti
    Layer over the floor
    Eager to poke the balloon
    Reverse motion replay
    Yet, the balloon doesn’t burst

^^ that’s a bit different to your one at the top of the page.

not sure what style this poem is, its not a haiku, that has 5 syllables, then 7, then 5.

    Soft
    But strong
    Over time
    The threads wear thin
    Tapestry
    Of love
    Fades

    Shihad – Wait and See

We could choose to disregard it
or have some fun and break it
    since god has just departed
we could carry on or fake it
    who has a better plan
whats the true nature of man
    whats money to your soul
    watch as money takes control

And is there space for every boy and girl
    in a competitive, material world
I guess we’ll have to wait and see
and I’m trying too hard too believe

Know when to draw the line
    know there’s a grand design
    know there’s a better way
I dont know and cannot say
    when my respect for man
    has taken all it can
    the purchase of your soul
placate and we have lost control x2

Is it daddys little boys and girls
become the acne on the face of the world
I guess we’ll have to wait and see
and I’m trying too hard too believe

We could choose to disregard it x2
    who has a better plan
whats the true nature of man
    whats money to your soul
    watch as money takes control

Is it daddys little boys and girls

What do you call this? Progress?
    We go backwards every day
    Another step closer to collapse
    Stealing our future away

    The air is getting thicker
    Rivers of ice getting thin
    Gone beyond our limits
    Where do we begin?

We need air to breathe in this silence
The fields are barren, given over to chance
    Trees whisper their worries
    The rocks hold quiet parlance

    We’re swimming against the tide
    To escape an empty tomorrow
Capacity is full in a broken machine
Less greed, less apathy, less sorrow

A relentless urge to make change
By those few that see the whole view
    Change only happens from within
Know that there is something you can do

But now in cooperation with EMI? Hmmm… Found in a recent (May 25th) interview on Beatweek.

"Are you trying to change the way music is distributed in general, or is this just a personal choice?

I have given up on the old music business. If anyone else wants to work within that system I can understand why. I am not fighting any causes for this kind of thing because history shows me that no one really cares too much about the business side. Fans just want exciting music and I agree with them that that is the most important thing. That said, I am in talks with the Pumpkins old label EMI to release a lot of unreleased materials and I really sense that they are ready to work with me to create a new way to put fans and my music together that takes care of everybody. So I am encouraged by that."

I’m a rather patient Smashing Pumpkins fan in general, but now I’m like: first see, then believe… I’m, as usual, looking forward to it anyway, of course. :)[/quote:vwgqpm2s]

    London 7/7/05

    Winding round the narrow streets
    Rushing through the darkened tunnels
    Metal carriages and double-deckers
The drivers on their daily mission

Unaware of the four plotting passengers
Who traveled far for their deadly deed
A silent killer sits on the top deck
Thinking of the task at hand

Believing this is the only way
    His mind warped and twisted
    Thoughts and scheming done
    With no warning, he detonates

    Shattered glass and metal shards
    The dead and wounded everywhere
An innocent bystander gone in a second
Could have easily been me right there

The other killers have done their part
    Panic spreading in the underground
    Smoke and splintered steel
As many rush to the rescue

    Climbing over the burnt bodies
    Amongst the screaming chaos
    A reason can be heard
    No one wants to know

    Through the confusion they realise
    An attempt to create fear
Instead it brought the people together
United in the face of terror

    They will never win

    Make a cut
    In the fabric of time
A tear that opens up the future
    And brings to light
    The shadows of the past
A wound that bleeds into forever
A gaping hole that tells you
    Never

“We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they’re called memories. Some take us forward, they’re called dreams.”

    ~ Jeremy Irons

time flies indeed, and things change, we all change, but how do we make the most of things when we are severely limited by external barriers? (ie. economy) It sometimes seems like a constant upwards struggle. And to do the things you really want to do (ie. travel, study etc) seem impossible when you are stuck in a rut, especially when there isn’t anything you can do to change things, all you can do is wait.

    How does the angel fly
When he takes a message to the gods?
    Dodging asteroids and lightning strikes
On his way to the heavens

    Where does the angel rest
To take a breather from his journey?
On silver-lined clouds or raindrop towers
On his way to meet with the gods

What message does the angel bring?
So important that it must be sent
One full of hope and faith
This time they cannot ignore it

What will the gods do now?
    They decipher the message sent
Send the angel back with the reply
    Change will come, be patient
