ArthurSpectatorSuperlordspamulon, 2 little questions. Did the Pumpkins play this funny instrumental tune Suspiria before they started this gig? And what did you think of the opening track Superchrist? I like it very much, but do you remember it? PS great you posted the videos!
ArthurSpectatorWhy wasn’t Jimi Hendrix in the list so far? Booooo to you all!

ArthurSpectatorBoth can stay, and hopefully they will. Same for Lisa by the way. They produce a genuine Smashing Pumpkins sound altogether to my opinion. And Cool As Ice Cream is right, as far as I’m concerned we can not know now if Iha was ever concerned to come back. Even Melissa who openly sollicited for her place back in the Pumpkins was eventually not chosen or contacted. And Iha said he was never contacted I remember now…
ArthurSpectatorI like to think the same of 7 Shades Of Black, pretty cool energetic punky track. Together with United States, Bleeding The Orchid, Neverlost and Doomsday Clock my favourite tracks of Zeitgeist. (Come On) Let’s Go! is followed after that… with Tarantula and the rest.
ArthurSpectatorwoo dragonforce i once ate 4 creme eggs, drank a can of coca-cola then listened to them. loud. and by the way – my room is tiny
i got hurt
damn you sugar-rush [/quote:2cc8y2rq]
Try sugarfree coke in a big room next time, I’m sure you will still break the house down!
ArthurSpectatorOK, here’s 1 from grandpa SPfreaks called Ten Years After. Just remember this was 1969, Woodstock and I was uhmmm walking around in diapers I think. When I was around 15 – 16 years old this band came to play in NL and I went there. The guy playing guitar rubbed his guitar to the mic stand while doing these solo’s and I was just blown away watching it. This thread is just great for bringing all these guitar-connected memories back. By the way BleedingTheOrchid I love your uploads! Same to you manillascissor!

ArthurSpectatorAnd this guitar works is very much appreciated also: The Music. This gives me the shivers. And the whole album does. Pretty good & intelligent rollercoaster rock that takes me higher (wink).

ArthurSpectatorYes I love this topic also! This band I \"forgot\" to mention in the Perfect Albums topic, but here they are anyway. The Mars Volta. They know how to play every instrument (watch the sweet bass solo at the start).

ArthurSpectatorSorry for posting 3 in a row, but I do need to bring in Billy also. It is not his very best guitar work ever done maybe but at least it’s recent. I see him amongst the greatest guitar players of this times. Maybe you can come up with better examples.

ArthurSpectatorI was hoping to find Stargazer from Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow period, but there are no good videos on YouTube for that song. This is pretty nice also, Catch the rainbow. Looooong!
Part I

Part II

ArthurSpectatorCool. I’m bringing in 1 of my favourite solos by Steve Ray Vaughn. Watch the amazing moment when he plays it on his back.

I will bring in Ritchie Blackmore also, let me find it.
ArthurSpectatoryup not bad arthur! nice find! in few years this band is the next supergroup like muse mark my words. however im more into unpolished billy rock [/quote:3u4t6qll]
I know what you mean BleedingTheOrchid. Muse and The Music both have this tiny bit too much electronics. Somehow. Somewhere. Smoothened up or something. However I do like that rollercoaster of rock taking me higher on speedy guitars, pretty good drums and a squeeky voice very much! And as with Billy’s texts, they are writing intelligent rocksongs. Kinda. Somehow. Somewhere. Well, anyway, just my taste. Hard to explain.
ArthurSpectatorwow arthur do i recognize tons of albums from my taste! what is the music never heard of[/quote:37qmflgm]
BleedingTheOrchid, check them out here on MySpace:http://www.myspace.com/themusic
They have 2 tracks from their first selftitled album online, being "Take the long road and walk it" & "The people". Listen and enjoy, & also check out the other tracks and the video. I love them!
ArthurSpectatorkorean zero? sigh… never seen it[/quote:1uksgi1z]
It’s on our website, BleedingTheOrchid!
ArthurSpectatorYup, also the Japanese DVD has this typo, thanks for pointing this out!
Update: just corrected the info on the 2 DVD’s and Zero Korea in the Collection with the notes found here. Good job!
ArthurSpectatorThanks Cool As Ice Cream, nice list. I knew about the Silverfuck thingy and the Siamese Dream tracklist that was missing on a certain US version (Wall Mart if I’m right) but they didn’t come up writing the topic. Shame on me!
However it reminded me of another VERY obvious censorship. On the Korean Zero CD single the complete artwork of the booklet was edited out and redone, except for the front. The 2 page booklet became a 4 page booklet. Obviously this censorship was done for the naked girl in the original artwork. Only after that it got the note \"Passed Censorship by K.E.C.P.P.\".
I just checked my collection but couldn’t find the Silvercrf*** typo somewhere. To what DVD release are you referring exactly?
ArthurSpectatori actually heard the album before the pumpkins played their first show.
(please let me have one of your spare sunglasses. please!)[/quote:2vzbbdua]
No, sorry. I believe you just found the exercise glasses. Don’t push it.
ArthurSpectatorwow. the "d’arcy-bass-coffin" is old news, man. i knew about it back in may.[/quote:spgr1vac]
Good for you. You’re not getting my spare for this however.
ArthurSpectatorgood idea i’ve always wanted to be able to discuss these kinda things seriously [/quote:2tzcpg03]
Then start it Superlordspamulon, if you didn’t already do that…
ArthurSpectatorpisces iscariot anyone?[/quote:20uy08e0]
New topic? Artwork Anecdotes for example?
ArthurSpectatorWow, Arthur I am so impressed at how you picked that up.[/quote:2caucyvj]
Uhmm, thanks, but the credits go to my friends I was with last Sunday. 1 of them mentioned it, untill then I didn’t know it either.I agree with you the artwork of the SP releases has many stories to tell and anecdotes to be discovered.
ArthurSpectatorno, i don’t. i’m way too handsome already, without exercising. don’t wanna explode in hottnessss…[/quote:2bs8piez]
Have my and keep em this time. I’ll get my spares.I don’t exercise either anymore, only for the romantic workouts with my girlfriend. Fun to do and keeps you in shape also.
ArthurSpectatorMy contribution. As I’m fond of a few styles of music, and love both live and studio albums, the list is a bit mixed. See if you like it also, I’ll explain the unknown bands/albums a bit.
-Smashing Pumpkins – Siamese Dream. #1, no doubt.
In no particular order:
-Rainbow – Rainbow on stage (my very first CD in the 80’s, still a huge favourite)
-Sepultura – Roots
-Urban Dance Squad – Life ‘n perspectives of a genuine crossover & Hollywood Live, Pinkpop Live (promo EP) (dutch rap/rock inspiration to RATM)
-Uriah Heep – Live January 1973
-16 Horsepower – whole catalogue (my #2 band after the Smashing Pumpkins)
-Dead Kennedys – Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables (early 80’s USA punk, defined my rebellish youth)
-Deep Purple – Shades of Deep Purple & Made in Japan
-Rage Against The Machine – Rage Against The Machine
-The Scorpions – Fly to the rainbow (1st outing of the Scorpions)
-The Music – The Music (shocking good UK electronic rock)
-Gary Moore – We want Moore!
-Led Zeppelin – The song remains the same & The BBC sessions
-Kobus gaat naar Appelscha – All smooth faces in a fantasy world (local ’80s dutch funpunk band)
-Nirvana – Hormoaning & Nevermind
-Kiss – Alive & Alive II (defined my love for rock music)
-Massive Attack – Mezzanine
-September Malevolence – Tomorrow we’ll wonder where this generation gets it’s priorities from (scandinavian progrock)
-Nuggets & Nuggets II (huge compilation on 8 CDs of early ’60s rock/punk/garage music. To me the definitive source of all today’s loud music)
-Tin Machine – Tin Machine
-Reboelje – Simmersnie EP (frisian alternative rockband, #3 after SP and 16HP)
-Anouk – Anouk is alive (dutch rock singer)
-Pink Floyd – Meddle & Live at Pompeii
-Noir Desir – Des vigases des figures (french alternative rock, #4 after SP, 16HP and Reboelje)
-Stevie Ray Vaughn – Texas Flood & Live at The El Mocambo
-The Nits – Hat (dutch alternative pop band, the band I’ve seen live the most times so far)
-Muse – AbsolutionNext to SP I’m a collector also of 16 Horsepower, Reboelje and Noir Desir. Reboelje collection is complete, as they stopped playing a few years ago and released only around 20 albums and singles. There are also 2 songs I just need to mention here.
-Hallo Venray – Tuck, the man (dutch alternative band, my life anthem, about loving a girl)
-Accept – Son of a bitch (my middlefinger to you all out there )I stop now, as a few more albums and songs pop up in my mind. That’s it for the moment!
ArthurSpectatorI agree with Arthur that Netphoria is being watched by the Pumpkins camp. I posted a few items regarding Veronica Grey and suddenly my IP address was banned and the posts deleted.[/quote:1klrzi0f]
Even your IP address banned, wow. Almost the same happened to me over there when I posted some info, but they thought it was an advertorial for our website. After the second time in a few weeks I was so fed up with them, I asked them to delete my login account. However they didn’t do that, as I went there for some little issues later again. I was still able to log in.Why do you think "the Pumpkins camp" was involved? Makes no sense to me yet…
ArthurSpectatorhmm that is interesting. it’d be kinda strange really – d’you reckon we’re big enough to get watched by them yet [/quote:ql0q02ga]
The SPfreaks Forum here? No. We exist less then 2 months only, with less than 50 members. Sweet ‘n’ cozy little board, nothing going on there, that’s what they think. Maybe in 2-3 years we’ll reach the bigger numbers and by then some rattlin’ & ramblin’ went on here I’m sure. So what do you expect for now?The SPfreaks Collection website maybe? Yes, most probably it is browsed by people from Caroline, HUT, Delabel, Warner Brothers, Virgin of course, maybe Reprise already, and others like Chrysalis. Because that’s where the money is. The copyright, the booties info, the acetates, test pressings & inhouse promo’s that have reached the market but were not intended to be there. The Virgin copyright control people would be complete nutcases when they don’t use all that info. That’s why we never link a name of a contributor to a single item. Info? Yes. Our collecting friends in trouble? Never.
