Agree. It scares me that there might be a day that I have to suck ass too and buy digital-only releases, otherwise there is no chance of listening to new Smashing Pumpkins songs. Let that suck ass day only arrive 30 years after my retirement, please…

I don’t know how you keep up with all these forums within forums…[/quote:3qs1pwbz]

    we are excessively dedicated [/quote:3qs1pwbz]

I can see. I nearly cried this past month going through people’s collection photos. I feel like a sucky fan. My parents were a little weird though, they never wanted me to have band posters on my wall, and they didn’t let me go to concerts until I turned 18… so I kind of started late and got side tracked with so many other things in life. I feel like I’m starting over these past few months… but the sad part is I don’t have money to afford a collection![/quote:3qs1pwbz]
Can I be honest with you Della? Your reply is honest too, so… We try to make this place a home for Smashing Pumpkins fans and Smashing Pumpkins collectors. Fans should feel free to dedicate their time with friends here, without being afraid to be flamed any minute. We can strongly disagree with each other sometimes, but always with respect. Collectors, often being treated as freaks elsewhere, should feel like the coolest persons on earth here. Because they are in fact cool persons, as most of them are friendly and helpful. And they have a lot of knowledge & rarities to share too! So it doesn’t matter if you have a big collection or not. Who fucking cares that The Everlasting Gaze was maybe released on some obscure Taiwanese promo compilation? (OK, I do… ) Seriously, you are a nice person, amongst many other nice persons here, and we happen to share the same intrest in some fucking cool band called Smashing Pumpkins, and next to that, we want to make some silly fun together, and that is what fucking counts! 8)

This is, I guess, SPfreaks.com in a nutshell. Correct me if I’m wrong…

I’m going to recommend my mates one-man-band project.

Arthur, you’re into post-rock – this is kinda post-rocky, you might like it. Lord knows I do. Normally, a friend’s band is always that – a friend’s band. It’s always kinda hard to like their music. But fuuuuck this is good.[/quote:1j8131l8]
This is indeed VERY good. You should become his manager & road crew & he might want to divide the groupies between you 2 on tour. Friends with benefits, right?

Seriously, with a proper marketing this can go somewhere. It’s fucking good!

who would go through all the trouble of bootleging a wooden box[/quote:1yqtrbup]
I think I can have that wooden box made in a quantity of 250 copies for 25 US$ each. On the ramsj market I buy 250 Siamese Dream cds for 1 dollar each and stuff them in the boxes, together with the original booklet. My investment would be 6,500.00 US$, right? Just a rough calculation, but I think I’m close to the truth here. Then, my sales could be 250 x 200 US$ = 50,000 US$. Calculate the profit yourself, and you got the reason why people are bootlegging.

It happened with the Smashing Pumpkins – Earphoria promo also, in that period when people were willing to pay 300 US$ or more for it… Luckily we hardcore collectors (ahem  ) know how to separate the boots from the genuine stuffs, but on record fairs and on the internet, not many are that hardcore… but just greedy, and excited to find such a "rare" item. Bootleggers know that.

    SPFC only says this:

\"The Siamese Dream Collector’s Edition is a wooden box with brass hinges that contains an autographed CD copy of the album and the 1st pressing booklet. The autographs are merely stamped reproductions. There are also reports of the box commonly being sold without the CD or booklets.\"

    We have our info here:

    http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=1697

\"Shaped wooden box set (aka Siamese Dream Collectors Edition) with metal hinges limited to only 1000 copies which contains the UK HUT CD album housed in a recess with individually numbered silver metal embossed plate at the side. The 20 page booklet is housed in a similar recess in the lid completing this box set. Though the CD itself and the booklet are official and genuine, the wooden box is not an official Virgin (US) or HUT (UK) release. The year of production is uncertain, but because it contains the UK CD and booklet, it is most probably manufactured in the UK. To end all confusion: there are no real or stamped autographs of Pumpkins bandmembers on it. There are rumours that this box was heavily bootlegged around 1999 – 2004.\"

So, I’m very curious about the autographs myself also, together with Cool As Ice Cream. I have never seen a copy WITH autographs, so I really wonder if it exists. Let’s see who brings in the next info. What is provided here is already pretty neat. Who knows more?

(PS I never bought it myself, and probably never will, despite its coolness… It’s a bootleg, that was even bootlegged itself, that’s how I feel about it.)

Somebody hacked my bank card number and charged up some Western Unions, completely wiping me out. Figures. So not only can I not get my money back for the next 6 weeks while this is being investigated… But once I get my next paycheck, I have no use of my debit card online, since I can only make purchases if my debit card is presented in person.

that’s really amazing, phantastic, marvelous, phantasmagorical…
    and it works really fast…

one little question: i’m looking for all owners of (e.g.) ‘i am one (12inch)’. were can i find / see these :?: i’ve tried the search function, but nothing…

    Mr. Benway[/quote:1y6am5j2]
Thanks Mr.Benway! Your latest pics should also be uploaded still, it is on the list… But you know… lot’s of things going on lately, as you noticed!

By the way, it is not possible to search the owners of a specific item indeed. Only when an item is on a wantlist or a sell/trade list it’s overview can be viewed. If you think your suggestion should be implemented someday, please put it in the Support Forum below. That is where RedWolf is keeping track of the suggestions. As you can see he honors most of them, when he has time, and when it is within his capabilities.
