Today I finally received my 2 deluxe boxes from Amazon. They contain the little sticker \"Packaged in USA Disc(s) Mexico\". BTW, they were taxed with 20 Euro by the local Tax Authority!

But no, my dvds do not have that FSK logo. What I also find a little peculiar, is that the Siamese Dream dvd does not have the THREE text on it.

arthur, you ordered your cds from the american amazon, right? did you also buy the single disc versions of the remastered albums?[/quote:icy1e0yy]
Right, but did not receive them yet. And no, I did not order the single disc versions, I expected them to be the same discs as in the deluxe boxes. Am I wrong?

That was a week ago. Now I’m at 49,076 words, on 114 Word pages. I suppose I’m roughly halfway now. Starting to feel comfortable about the first 11 chapters, that are kind-of finalized, and are including pics. Not always paintings though. Added 3 chapters to the already existing 44 chapters.

Tsss, I didn’t realise that, but yeah, there is some nudity in there, if you look closely. :P

This pic just made it to chapter 6 \"The nightmare of Astamor\", 1 of the medieval chapters. I loved writing that chapter. It’s the first hint to things to come, including a dead medicine woman that is asked for advice on the graveyard where she is buried, blablabla, real medieval-ish fantasy.

There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife. The knife had a handle of polished black bone, and a blade finer and sharper than any razor… if it sliced you, you might not even know that you had been cut – not immediately. The knife had done almost everything it was brought to the house to do, and both the blade and the handle were wet…*

Astamor just had a bad dream, he realised, and that never happened to him before. Astamor always slept well, and deep, and only a canon that was fired next to his bed could wake him up. Next to him, inside the bed, Guinevera was breathing slowly and steadily, she had arrived in her sweet, innocent dreamland already. Astamor wished he was touched a little more with the liveliness, the uncaring and the firmness of his wife.\"

*quote from The Graveyard Book – Neil Gaiman (2008)

(yes, I sometimes use quotes from other books or songs, for example Quiet and Fuck You from our beloved SP is in the book also. With proper Copyright information of course… )

Adding a new feature to the book: pics of paintings to every chapter. Chapter 1 for example now has the painting \"Hylas And The Nymphs (1896)\" by John William Waterhouse. I do believe it works, but let’s see.

No, not there. As Derek said in his email "Sorry, no paper insert. I imagine VERY few of those survived, as I also imagine they didn’t come in the disc, they were probably sent around the desks." Still extremely happy to have found such rarity for such a good (illegal?) price. :D

@jupiter: I don’t think so, it was not advertised like that. But I can’t really tell, I never buy digital versions of songs (unless they come for free with a cd that I order :P )

Hey Adam, welcome aboard! Can’t help you I’m afraid, but isn’t that poster sometimes on eBay? I’m sure you have been searching there too, right? It’s a kind of rare poster, that’s for sure. Good luck searching, my man.

Tonight I reached 40,216 words, on 97 Word pages. Time for a break now. But damn, this is so much FUN! I just LOVE to write like this! :D

OK, what have I been doing so far? I set up a framework of 44 chapters, 22 for a story in current times, 22 for a story in medieval times. Chapter 1 is current times, chapter 2 is medieval times, chapter 3 is current times again, and so on. I might want to change that order, I don’t know. I just can only hope it works for the future reader. Maybe some extra chapters will be added later, I don’t know either. All chapters have (working) titles, the empty chapters have notes what I want to write there. Roughly 25 chapters are kind-of-ready, randomly written but already in the right place in the story. But quite a few of them kind-of-ready chapters are regularly reviewed, extended, partly rewritten etc., it’s a real work in progress.

And the next challenge is to write about \"the big fight\", both the lawsuit part of recent years, and the medieval part, when the castle of the Lord and his friends is under attack. I want to make those chapters really long and exciting. Probably I’m roughly halfway now, I don’t know. I’m still aiming for the 100,000 words, or more. And hopefully it will end up being a 1 price, 2 stories book: a legal thriller mixed with a mirror-story of a huge medieval army attacking a friendly place, that knows how to fight back, although they are outnumbered big times.

Anyway, just to share the excitement about writing this book with you guys. I’m not saying it will be the next blockbuster in your local bookstore, but in a humble way I’m proud of what I wrote so far. I never thought I was able to do this.

Sounds fair for such quality release, after all it is a box with 2 cds and 1 dvd, sold at a retailer with a shop and personel to be paid.

But anyway, man-o-man, I can’t wait to listen to these beauties!

What was the price of the deluxe edition in Utrecht? Just curious. I paid 54.45 USD including shipment US->NL, almost 41 Euro that is, for both the Gish and Siamese Dream deluxe editions together. Just curious if the retail price is somewhat the same…

Wow, thanks for these reviews, Sven, now I REALLY can’t wait to have a listen too. Amazon send it already, so hopefully I will have it anyday soon. Sounds like a release VERY worthwhile to have been released. And can’t wait to read your other reviews.

And I got this message from Amazon (also for the Gish reissue, so I saved $10.90 in total! It went from 28 something to 22 something, I’m quite suprised! :D ) :

    \"Greetings from Amazon.com.

You saved $5.45 with Amazon.com’s Pre-order Price Guarantee!

The price of the item(s) decreased after you ordered them, and we gave you the lowest price.

The following title(s) decreased in price:

    Siamese Dream\"

And on top of that I received 3 extra emails from Amazone stating I received 2+2+1 = 5 dollar on my account to spend on MP3 music. But… \"Amazon MP3 music is available to customers located in and with billing addresses in the United States.\" I’m in Europe, you could have checked that, you fools!
