manillascissorKeymasteryou have to find a pic, but it can’t be larger than 80 x 80 pixles, and 25 mb right?[/quote:1fq35thy]
Shit. I think 80×80 is right. Let me check the MB size.

Yeah, unfortunately, when dealing in the realm of super crazy rarities, you sometimes have to bend over backwards for the seller. Sometimes even forward, if the item is cool enough.

manillascissorKeymasterSooooooooooooooooooooo……
This got me thinking. Until now, we’ve never known about the existence of this test press. Just like we have no idea about a Gish test press.
The original Gish LP on Caroline was pressed in DE, correct? However, it was on the Caroline label, not Virgin or Hut, or SubPop for that matter. All subsequent pressings were the remastered version, and pressed by Virgin/Hut.
This leads me to believe that since not one single Gish LP test pressing has surfaced in 17 years, maybe Caroline had a policy to destroy the test pressings. I suppose this can be easily disproved if anyone can find a DE test pressing by Caroline around ’91 for another band. Good luck!
Anyway, point is, I’m not sure a test pressing for Gish (original or remastered) will ever surface. Maybe they just don’t fucking exist. It’s the only vinyl w/o a test pressing associated with it. Correct me if I’m wrong.
MCIS has a test pressing, although it’s not on spfreaks. I used to own it in college, but sold it. Silly me!
manillascissorKeymastercoolness arthur
manillascissorKeymasterI like HBO a lot, but don’t have it anymore.

Used to watch Curb your Enthusiasm and Bill Maher.
I like the Office, Real World (Hollywood), and SNL, occasionally. SNL kinda blows, just more of a habit.
manillascissorKeymasterfor the Tristessa 7: there were 5 TPs.
I guess somewhere aroun that number for the 12" too?[/quote:2zzq7ww0]The 12" was pressed in DE. Is that where the 7"s were pressed? I know they are on Subpop, but they may have been pressed in different places, which may lead to different numbers of test presses.
manillascissorKeymasterAlso, 2000 10 19 I guess was date of broadcast. Not sure if that’s date of show, and definitely have no idea when this promo was released. Could have been early 2001 for all we know.
manillascissorKeymasterSoundboard? Wow. I think some people (Sven/Jeroen) may disagree with that. I really hope we can sort this out.
manillascissorKeymasterMine is the Untitled CD that the band released through Q101. 3 copies in existence and I have one! Whoohoo!
What is yours?[/quote:svd9md1z]
For your information, we got that item on SPfreaks.com, just updated with new scans and proper info.http://www.spfreaks.com/Default.aspx?pa … &item=2441[/quote:svd9md1z]
Cool!
manillascissorKeymasterI was thinking the same thing. Really shitty listing, as far as how he describes the record and all, but you could potentially come away with a steal.
manillascissorKeymasterHey CAIC
I’ll finish uploading soon. Maybe tomorrow. Who knows. But yeah, sounds like a camera recording. Just real shitty.
Once I upload, I’ll let you be the judge.
manillascissorKeymasterYeah, I test mine frequently.
manillascissorKeymastercan he hear that? wow he must have great ears.
and thanks for the friend hug arthur.
[/quote:2xpya1wx]Bram actually can’t "hear" it. There is a satellite orbiting our earth that Arthur and Redwolf shot up about 5 years ago. When ever a webmaster wishes to contact another webmaster, any signal is instantly relayed up to the satellite, then a little zap hits the freak on the ground. Depending on where you place the zapper, it can be quite enjoyable.
manillascissorKeymasterYeah looks genuine to me. However, the information on the auction is wrong, correct me if I’m wrong, you hardcore vinyl specialists!
"SMASHING PUMPKINS Mellon Collie MINT 1.Pressing" <= wrong title, it’s not the first pressing. Right?
"this is the real deal: Cut in the UK at Townhouse from original masters using DMM technologie and pressed on heavyweight BLACK VINYL!
This comes from a friends archive where it sat on the shelve since 1996 when he got it from another friend working for the recordindustry. The amazing thing is: The white rectangle on the front cover’s lower right corner where the limited edition number should be is EMPTY! I inspected this closely and compared it to my numbered copy and the two of them are identical right down to the polylinered innersleeves, the stamped matrix numbers and the handsigned addition "Townhouse DMM". What do we learn from this? Seems that Hut produced a bit more than the official 20000 numbered copies and gave those unnumbered copies away for promotion. So here is your chance to win one of those! As I said: The only difference is the fact that there is NO individual number!" <= I’m not so sure about this part also. Empty number box, so it’s a 1996 promo? We only know about the 1998 repress, which was unnumbered… And what is that Townhouse DMM thingy on both the numbered and unnumbered copy? Can our SPfreaks Vinyl Dept. come into action, and update us about this?
[/quote:m02ctm72]The seller is just mistaken, probably unaware he’s selling the second pressing, which left the white box empty. So it’s genuine as hell, just up to the buyer: do you want the first pressing or the second?
As a collector, I STILL don’t own a second pressing because they just go for so much. They are actually rarer than the original pressing (I think).
Bram can compare the Townhouse DMM thing, as he has both vinyls, but I’m sure that will take some time as he’s busy these days.
BRAM TO THREAD!
manillascissorKeymasterOuch!!!! Copy and paste?
manillascissorKeymasterman, so far, this sounds like shit…
manillascissorKeymasteri think cool as ice cream awakened a sleeping giant with the mediafire/flac thing. this is pretty freaking awesome!
manillascissorKeymasterCool bullet!
I found out a few other funny things, while researching the behaviour of our 25,000+ visitors since April 22, 2007. In the past year and 2 months, the most wanted page was the homepage, well that’s not a surprise I guess. But read on.
What we see here is that our discussions & homepage article about the Mellon Collie vinyl attracted quite some visitors! Is this cool or is this cool! I think it is very cool indeed!
[/quote:2hhcjgel]Very cool. You should update this more often. I’m curious what people are looking at, and if/when/how it changes.
But nice!

That is too fucking funny. What a horrible cover. I actually have this 7". Glad I don’t have to play it.

manillascissorKeymasterhow do you find other sources so fast? where do these exist?[/quote:3fonjk3b]
For example here.
http://www.archive.org/details/tsp2000- … -6S.flac16[/quote:3fonjk3b]
Well, just a cursory comparison of that file to some on these CDs, the source is quite obviously different, so that’s intriguing at least. Thanks!
manillascissorKeymasterGood call Arthur. I’d say that’s a fair trade, hardly worth mentioning.
