Yes, I’ve read your story, and glad that EMI corrected the error. When I go to the store I can tell them there was a mix-up at EMI and explain that the correct book is in the vinyl release, hopefully they will be ok with opening one if it means getting the book replaced with the correct one – but if they don’t want to open it (all that packaging) then I could ask them to get whoever purchases one to contact me (no doubt they’d want the right book too as the vinyl is $200) and I’ve also contacted a couple of SP fans in NZ to see if they have it.
Only problem is that the vinyl release is very limited here, I’ve seen only 2-3 copies, so I will have to ask around.

    shit’s getting real

I’ve watched enough of these to know that the message is that people need to just get over the ‘alien’ thing – ok they’re out there, or something is, whatever – and have this energy generation that is used by their ufos – zero gravity, tesla’s inventions, etc – made a reality.

A lot of inventions are kept secret though: http://blogs.fas.org/secrecy/2010/10/in … recy_2010/

If solar panels were kept secret back then, hopefully this new technology will be available soon!

SP should not be compared to McDonalds! But yeah, would rather have something served than nothing at all :)

i don’t. it’s not special enough. it’s just the wrong book. there’s nothing "unique" about the mistake. you could easily recreate it.

i’m still wondering if there’s been anyone who bought the EU vinyl box set that had the correct book.

so far, the early conclusion still stands:

cd+dvd box US: always the correct book
vinyl box US: always the correct book
cd+dvd box EU: sometimes the wrong book, sometimes the correct book
vinyl box EU: always the wrong book[/quote:2bavt8jp]

oh…I have the wrong book – wonder if the store will let me swap it :?:

I think there are people who just like having something to bitch about. For this reason I no longer read comments on the Facebook SP updates – ugh

The Auckland show last year had a couple of people yelling out \"What is this?\" and \"Play something we know!\"during Oceania songs and one guy stormed off at the end of the show saying \"Billy’s a douche\"

I agree Arthur – I appreciate Billy’s art and am always interested in what his next musical venture is – and he has always chosen talented and smart musicians to work with!

was it not from that ghost children gig/cd comp thing?[/quote:2oz89vvx]

I don’t know the artwork for that other than the covers. And I would have thought it was from around the Zeitgeist era with it being used for the song Stellar.
Seems like it is fan made – someone has made t-shirts with this design too – I wonder if they just used the artwork from the video or found it somewhere else. :?:

Pretty cool he went along the front of the crowd, hope I can get to the front when they play in NZ. 8)

    Jeff Buckley – Opened Once

    I once was open
And one with a travelling heart
    I loved this sweet guy

    Just like the fiction
    Rushing in your riverbed
Arise like applause in my head

    And in the half-light
    Where we both stand
    This is the half-light
    See me as I am

    Just like the ocean
Always in love with the moon
    It’s overflowing now
    Inside you

    We fly right over
The minds of so many in pain
We are the smile of light that brings them rain

    In the half light
    Where we both stand
    In the half light
You saw me as I am

I am a railroad track abandoned
    With the sunset
    Forgetting
    I ever happened
    That I ever happened.

    RIP Jeff

how would a computer get fucked up? is that possible? would their buzz die off and then they would crave more? they already get viruses and sick, just like humans, why not get fucked up too?[/quote:1v1rccix]
Humans have a free will (or as some would say, can make a choice) to get fucked up, computers don’t. In the case of computers, it are always humans that fuck them up. Always. Or let’s put it like this; in the end there is always a human being in control of the fucking up.[/quote:1v1rccix]

i don’t think that is true. i think a human may start the process. sending a digital shot of THC via cable wires to other computers on the network. those computers, in turn, either receive the buzz, or don’t, depending on their availability to receive and also preprogrammed responses. but after that, a computer is operating independent of human control. it’s using a bunch of if then statements to decide what to do with the information it just intercepted. much like we do with the information we receive daily, from advertisements, drugs, allergens, etc. we have preprogrammed and/or learned responses to these signals. i see them as almost identical.

i think what separates us currently, however, is computers/robots really have no pleasure center. whoever built us, gave us this pleasure center, or if you don’t believe in that, evolution created a pleasure center in our brain over time. and since it is there, you would make the assumption that we are better off as a species with it than without it, with regards to survival.

    what for?[/quote:1v1rccix]

But wouldn’t the computer’s ‘pleasure centre’ be one of its pre-programmed responses?

yes – that’s the one I have. Just confused about the 4th pressing in black listed under the 1993 release – perhaps should say ‘4th pressing (2007) in black’

hmm, I wonder what else they have wrong on their site. :?

The info here says there were 4 pressings, and the 4th was black – however there is no pic of the black – does that mean the 4th pressing was the 2007 one?

Well that would make sense if it was pressed in 2007, since it is in very good condition. How many were pressed then?

This info says there was a black vinyl in 1993 http://www.discogs.com/Smashing-Pumpkin … se/4402621 – is this wrong?

nice – I just listened to Bob Stern’s interview with Billy (about a year late, haven’t been keeping up with interviews) – really great interview, I liked his selection of songs, and ending with Sweet Sweet 8)
