After that… it was just coming up with ideas and being flamed for it. For instance, suggesting one song (that was an unused song on one of their albums) could have evolved into another song on another album, and then being flat out told I was wrong. A lot. Somewhat angrily/harshly. Plus, there were quite a few just general dickish regular users on there too.

I can understand why you’d want that, but honestly? It’ll probably reach a point where you can’t control it. The official Mew forum (which I was a member of for a few months, then left because I felt there was a certain level of hostility towards me) has like 12000 members, of those I’d say about 50 are regular posters, the rest spambots/unused accounts.
There’s a chance it may spiral out of control, like that, here too. Just so you’re aware.

One that I’ve recently been listening to a lot after having ‘got’ it – Funeral, by Arcade Fire.
Holy shit, that record is amazing, powerful, sublime, joyful and beautiful. It took me a few listens to ‘get’ it, but once I did, oh my god.
Go read it!
Read the ‘Jail Break’ plot first, as it was the first one he did. Skip Bard Quest (it was abandoned, I believe) but definitely read ‘Problem Sleuth’. It’s fantastic.

So, my Work Experience week is over. It wasn’t that bad, actually. And I may, as a consequence, get some part-time work with the self-employed web designer I shadowed on Thursday. Not bad, really.

Menial work for other people. I did filing for three hours.
Today was my first day of ‘work experience’.
Already, I have decided that I shall never have a career. I’m planning on demanding a guitar + singing lessons for my 18th. It will happen. One day, you shall see my name in the stars.

Let’s see a rundown of how this has fucked everything up: in Physics: Tuesday, do first test. Wednesday, mark first test. Thursday, do second test. Friday, mark second test. What actually happened: Wednesday, do first test. Classical Civilisation: Finish up short film, hand in. What actually happened: Didn’t have any of the CC lessons. English: Work on Coursework on Tuesday and Wednesday. What actually happened: Worked on c/w on Wednesday. Maths: fuck maths.
