    panopticon
    starz (pretty heavy version)
    space oddity (great arrangement)
    xyu (cool breaks!)
    disarm (strings from tape)
    tonite reprise
    tonight tonight (strings from tape)
    bullet
    one diamond, one heart
    pale horse
    today
zero (with unknown intro, lead in – could have been a snippet from immigrant song???)
    stand inside your love
united states (w/ uli john roth from the scorpions taking the lead solo in the middle to HUGE smiles from bc!!!!)

tight, loads of smiles from BC, nary a word to the audience and VERY loud

Im scared to play incase my cd player destroys it some how lol i would love to though[/quote:1ydoqgyb]
please tell me you are joking.[/quote:1ydoqgyb]

Im serious, i dont wanna play any of my cool stuff out of fear. But i will give machina ii a whirl tomorrow and see how it goes lol[/quote:1ydoqgyb]

    That’s nonsense…

A properly calibrated record player can’t do any damage unless you play a record for hours on end.
For a cd player to damage your cd’s you’ve got to have a really dodgy player with a rusty nail instead of a lasrer pick-up…

What I always did and still do, also with the demo tapes is PLAY them; I don’t collect sound carriers i.e.: records, cds, tapes to just look at them… Imagine how much different the NCIS cd sounds from the radically better vinyl and just try to imagine the massive upgrade with the re-releases… same goes for the different versions of M2…

Good ahead and give it all a listen… :)
As long as you’re not too pissed to misplace or damage items when taking them out of covers, cases or whatever you’re bound to be totally fine…

yeah let’s compare and wait and see…
it’s gonna and gotta go down, but it’s a lot of vinyl so that price might be and remain a little steep…

    it’s a different transfer.

i believe the virgin promos had the same audio as the download version that was available on sp.com and on the metro website, for example.

if i’m not mistaken, that audio was supposed to be a rip from the copy of the sp.com webmaster (tigershorty?). this is also what sven has told about the origin of the virgin promos.
but i might be wrong. i don’t really know. i just go by what i’ve read. maybe virgin did the transfer, and then the websites hosted mp3s that were sourced from the virgin promos?[/quote:23s9ae0s]

i think the virgin promos were sourced from tigershorty’s rip of the vinyl set.

It’s gonna be one big reunion there at the Paradiso :)

Most of us haven’t EVER seen the band at the best venue in the world, so duh… here we go!!! :)

According to the Paradiso-website: the show is still not sold out (Sunday, 10.36) which I feel is kind of a let down… The band totally lost its momentum somehow… But still: at least we’ll be there to see them :)

TEG on Machina on vinyl is insanely bass heavy. a lot of record players can’t even handle the depth of the groove there… resulting in tracking problems (bouncing stylus even)…

if calibrated correctly, it sound amazing![/quote:3t7kddtp]
I wonder if we did something wrong. I mean this guy obviously knew what he was doing, as he showed me how to calibrate the skating settings in a way that skating will not appear on ANY place of the record, while most people settle for a no skating setting only in the middle of the vinyl. He will teach me the magic on my turntable in 2-3 weeks, when he is done servicing it. But I wonder, is maybe a special type of stylus needed for the Machina vinyl?[/quote:3t7kddtp]

no, i don’t think you did something wrong…
it’s just a massively distorted/saturated mix with all out low end; i guess it’s a matter of taste…

    – clear vinyl / translucent / transparent vinyl tends to but is not always somewhat of inferior fidelty to solid vinyl (coloured or black)…
    > therefore I really REALLY dislike the fidelity of the original PI release…[/quote:339zlo3w]
that’s why you need the UK pressing.[/quote:339zlo3w]

errr… yeah i did and would like to have the black vinyl UK pressing, BUT: the remaster blows even that one out of the water… so as per audio (SP)Freak(s)-joy there no begging here ;)

Are coloured vinyls not said to be of leeser sound quality?
    Sure I heard that somewhere.[/quote:3dvpys3j]

    colour doens’t matter.

    however:
    – picture discs use very thin vinyl on both side of a ‘picture’ on paper sandwiched in between and although thin vinyl should per se compromise the sound quality (i.e. Teagarden 2 12"), it frequently appears to be of lower fidelity…

    also:
    – clear vinyl / translucent / transparent vinyl tends to but is not always somewhat of inferior fidelty to solid vinyl (coloured or black)…
    > therefore I really REALLY dislike the fidelity of the original PI release…
    >> however: I own a Red Sparrowes record on clear speckled black/gold dust vinyl that just sounds amazing, so it can be done…

i believe there’s one still life track out there with bc on bass. i should also have that somewhere.[/quote:19d8cz1z]

correct, but there once was a site where a former band member of Still Life put on these tracks for an extremely short period of time and there was more than the one track…

Did spfreaks get taken down yet? :)[/quote:1y4mht4s]

he told me to tell you to go fuck yourself and that he bought the moon demo, original psycho tape, NEC and eye demos from joann. which is strange when you think about it. why would she consult him for prices as a friend and not just sell it outright? then she lists it on eBay for him to buy? what a shitty friend.

    "how much is this worth?"

    "maybe $250"

"ok, i’ll list it on eBay then. hope it sells for $250!"

"good luck! i’ll bid on it. hope i win!"

"don’t worry, we’re the same person!"

"oh yeah. tell devon i’m not going to be able to see her tonight. i have a prior engagement with thuy."

    "will do!"

    "thanks devon!"[/quote:1y4mht4s]

    HILARIOUS!!! :)

the chance of obtaining the original Psycho Tape is next to zero… trust me, i was pretty close once…

the chance of obtaining the original NEC Tape is extremely small too…

there IS no EYE demo to start with!

so someone in possession of all these items at once selling those in this manner…
    YEAH SURE ;)

Where’d you find that gem? Super jealous![/quote:1duboaxh]

    by the way: just curious…

does anyone here own the one and only I Am One 7"t/p that got out (word of mouth has it that BC has two copies, three were made)? this one copy was sold long ago or at least put up for auction on eBay…

(damn myself: i remember clearly how it looked and all, might have saved the images then, but i did that on a work computer (as I haven’t had a computer until pretty much 2000+)… anyway… all my TSP-files I then copied onto ZIP-discs, gave those to Jeroen, he then transferred the files to CDRs for me and maybe I did put those back onto an old computer I no longer use (but still have in the attic)… I never threw any TSP-related stuff away, so these CDRs should be somewhere, just like the audio for the Still Life / TSP gig (very first Pumpkins show) where I had some snippets of (and one or two complete songs) from the Still Life set where BC filled in if I’m not totally mistaken… so many years ago… might need to bring my archive(s) back in working order I guess… :) …)
