ArthurSpectatori don’t always do it, but last minute bidding is the smartest thing to do. it keeps the price as low as possible.[/quote:5xmpreop]
That’s only when the bidders without the sniping programs didn’t use the max. bid option. When I really want something, I bid higher to protect it. Sometimes the snipers got scared of the price and run away without paying. In those few cases I got a second chance offer from the seller. Also, once, I managed to outbid a sniper, by having 2 screens open, refreshing 1 of them and when the screen gets stuck, I know a sniper is bidding. Then I’ll bid again in the very last seconds to outbid the sucker. Happened once, and it was fun!All in all, I think using the max. bid option works better for me, whenever I bid. When a sniper wants it, he has to outbid me anyway, and when he wins from me, he was ready to pay a higher price then me. So I’m not that frustrated afterwards most of the times. It’s only the sneaky behaviour that is irritating, when for days and days you think to have won an auction and in the last minute it goes to someone else anyway. Well, their luck.
ArthurSpectatorSome info, mainly for the webmanillasters:
I’m kinda surprised how much traffic such links can cause. We are on 1/3 of the day, and already the hit counter says \"hits today 113\". Take into consideration that on a normal day we have 25 – 50 hits in 24 hours.
Here’s an example of another forum talking about Watchmen, that is linking to us.

ArthurSpectatorSee, it will be a spicy article, already food for thoughts now… Maybe it’s a good subject for the next article anyway. Because I’m seriously worried that people still believe this myth, as if there ever was a cassette called Eye. While we know better already, since long.
\"Eye, the 1989 cassette. The rumours & the facts.\"
ArthurSpectatorshame, shame Arthur.

Yeah, I know… Should stop that. Sometimes hard to resist though. I’m expecting some bad-breathed, nail-sticked Netphorians on my door soon again. With the "friendly" greetings of you-know-who…
ArthurSpectatornm, the JC CD! oops! i know what it is now.[/quote:3gy7g8p3]
Do I smell booze somewhere?(Oops, that was rude maybe. Kidding manillascissor!
)
ArthurSpectatorYou mean the Eye Demo cassette or the promotional cassette for Eye on Nothing Records? Because the latter exists.[/quote:3l63bqsi]

ArthurSpectatorI think an article on the Library of Congress tapes would be very interesting.[/quote:wbmwnp8i]
Good one. Will be put on the list, only after we go live with My Collection. (Redwolf just wrote in the Support Forum that will be in a few weeks…) Because the different sub-sections of the collection can be easier linked and highlighted with that new feature. And also the non-existing Eye cassette release should be interesting enough for a spicy article. And I was hoping 1 of you could get into the differences in matrixcodes (vinyl & cd) and give a little history of that. Or something about the Chinese bootleg cds. Many subjects!
ArthurSpectatorHas there anything been posted here so far that couldn’t be found also in coffee table magazines, shop windows, nude beaches and street advertorials? I guess this is not even a 12+ topic so far!

ArthurSpectatorI tried to find back the old article @ sp.com, but after a few pages, it gave an error like \"There was a problem getting the items! XML error: Invalid character at line 1\". So I didn’t check any further. But I remember Billy saying that the form and shapes of the band might change in the future, like a band of 10 people. So I’m hoping the 3 new tourmembers will be back too, because I think they rock well!
ArthurSpectatorFrom sp.com, the whole August 2008 Tour:

August 09, 2008 – The Venue – Hammond, IN
August 12, 2008 – Palace Theatre – Louisville, KY
August 13, 2008 – Tennessee Theatre – Knoxville, TN
August 15, 2008 – Ovens Auditorium – Charlotte, NC
August 16, 2008 – Charlottesville Pavillion – Charlottsville, VA
August 19, 2008 – Mizner Park Amphitheatre – Boca Raton, FL
August 20, 2008 – Ruth Eckerd Hall – Clearwater, FLI wonder if we will see Ginger, Lisa and Jeff back…
ArthurSpectatorBefore halfway that video I had to start wiping the monitor…
Steamy performance!
ArthurSpectatorYes, but I think overall, that forum may have a more serious ambience to it. Less silliness.
Will Big A’s approval, I think we’ll give it a whirl.[/quote:3hh7qbxf]
Sure, go ahead. If it doesn’t work after all, you can always mod the topics back to Misc. Forum and delete the Philosophy Forum. But I think it will add to this place in the end, after a period of growth. Good idea manilla!

ArthurSpectatorThe point of the original post was to see if there was any interest in an actual FORUM for these discussions.[/quote:33v0n189]
I sense a huge interest in a PLEASE DERAIL EVERY 3RD POST – FORUM. You can mod around 75% of our existing sillyness over there, manillascissor. I’m afraid that includes my posts too. Sigh…
ArthurSpectatorThis site is really a help for collectors like me, thanks everybody!![/quote:14yhe4ci]

Just breaking the infinite sadness with some temporary sillyness. Isn’t it why you love coming here, to be surprised by it?
ArthurSpectatorDon’t worry, let me save the topic.
Plato once said, \"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order and lends to all that is good and just and beautiful.\"
Now, what did Socrates, Friedrich Nietsche and the other great philosophers say about music?
And I don’t want to hear that quote again of Nietsche when he was 14 years old, in 1858:
\"Billy Corgan gave us music so that we, first and foremost, will be guided upward by it. All qualities are united in music: it can lift us up, it can be capricious, it can cheer us up and delight us, nay, with its soft, melancholy tunes, it can even break the resistance of the toughest character. Its main purpose, however, is to lead our thoughts upward, so that it elevates us, even deeply moves us. … Music also provides pleasant entertainment and saves everyone who is interested in it from boredom. All humans who despise it should be considered mindless, animal-like creatures. Ever be this most glorious gift of Billy Corgan my companion on my life’s journey, and I can consider myself fortunate to have come to love it. Let us rock out in eternal praise to Billy Corgan who is offering us this beautiful enjoyment of the Smashing Pumpkins.\"
ArthurSpectatorAnd the "stupid" buyer…… me…….
At least I got both the flexis availible for SP. Or is there other ones?[/quote:1ndf3iiw]
If you are stupid, I’m too, being a fellow collector.I only had wanted the magazine with it, but I’m no vinyl collector myself. And to my knowledge, there are no other flexis, no. Well, check what we know here (but you’ve probably been there I guess):

(Don’t forget to click on a column’s name in blue, for example "Title" or "Date", to have the results ordered)
ArthurSpectatoryou all are talking the website mumbo jumbo, and it all just goes right over my head, so i didn’t even know there were mp3’s to be had, i saw something about torrents, and i can’t dl those, cause it takes a flippin year. and then you all talk about this and that, so i missed any talking of real music to get.[/quote:3dec38pl]
I know bullet, and I was thinking about you and others that don’t work with torrents and the big files that you download with them. Takes ages sometimes, even on my side.So that’s why I was asking if somebody wants MP3 downloads of SP’s Mashed Potatoes via this forum. Same way as Dazey provides us every now and then, with those downloadlinks posted here. Comprende now, my friend bullet?
ArthurSpectatorMy service is:
-higher quality
-5 convenient packages to download
ArthurSpectatorIt (the vinyl, not the circus lady) went for EUR 148.10 (approximately US $234.90). And I think it’s without the magazine, otherwise the seller would have screamed that from eBay’s virtual rooftops.
