It’s completely insane to justify that an item is a geniune promo based solely on a sticky note. Therefore, the seller needs to stick it up his ass.[/quote:32y46b9r]
ok. that’s what i was thinking.

    exactly.

ignoring a feedback score and history like this one is asking for it.

in reply to: *cough*check out this ebay listing #19648

this seller is not completely sane. check out how he reacts to negative feedback.

what exactly are you saying here? i’m not sure if i can follow.

in reply to: Tristessa 7\"Sub Pop PROMO #19637

the funny thing is that after you win and pay for this item, you’re not even sure if you’ll ever receive it: \"shipping can be discussed\".

    fingers crossed!

in reply to: Tristessa 7\"Sub Pop PROMO #19631

looks like a single that was given out for free, for promotion. but it’s just the regular single, with something that looks like a card from someone from caroline, and a post-it note. even if it’s real, it’s not all that special, in my opinion.

this would be very easy to make yourself. and this doesn’t prove anything, but the post-it note looks rather new to me…

in reply to: American Gothic: Official Worldwide Releases #5752

if it’s not been released yet, i don’t think there will be one.

america didn’t get a release either, so this is not too strange.

in reply to: American Gothic: Official Worldwide Releases #5750

So what (commercial) releases of American Gothic do we have?
    I see:
    – UK
    – Europe
    – Canada
    – Mexico
    – Argentina
    – Australia

Still no news on a Japanese version?

in reply to: American Gothic: Official Worldwide Releases #5749

shouldn’t be too hard. there must be more copies on ebay.[/quote:31xqmklx]
Well, it took me till today anyway before my Argentinian contact found it. Must be a bit rare anyway I guess.

BTW, thanks for buying a website shirt. Will you come over to collect it with a biertje, or should I ship it to you already?[/quote:31xqmklx]

hmmm… i still see copies on ebay. also, it looks like american gothic sellers from the usa are also selling the argentinian release. (check out the little silver sticker on the front.)

i won’t be able to come over. it’s quite far and i’m afraid to drive. and i don’t know when i will have enough time. so yeah, put it in the mail. thanks! i’d like to have a biertje with you though.

in reply to: Machina II, who owns the original vinyl anyway? #18746

wow why would anyone sell that or give it to a GF to sell?[/quote:28w2mawv]
obviously he didn’t give it to her to sell. that’s why she was so afraid that he would find out.

i think he found out, actually. he might have asked it back.

i wonder where the album stays though. that site has been around for months.

i thought i heard that the album was finished already. but i’m probably imagining that.

    i suggest creedence clearwater revival.

and a personal favourite, but i’m not sure if it would work: pixies.

in reply to: Machina II, who owns the original vinyl anyway? #18738

just imagine you were the only other person who knew about it and were able to take machina II home for say $500.

    oh boy.

    another why:
why didn’t anyone know about this charity auction?

in reply to: Machina II, who owns the original vinyl anyway? #18734

i don’t think the seller was such a huge smashing pumpkins fan. i also believe she was quite surprised by the massive attention and super high bids her auction got.

    manilla appreciation thread!

in reply to: Machina II, who owns the original vinyl anyway? #18732

i don’t know. q101 couldn’t really do much with it, could they?

one day they donated it to a charity auction (or put it in a charity auction they organised themselves, i don’t know). one guy won it for about $400 and gave it to his girlfriend as a gift. she’s the one who tried to sell it. but then it suddenly got so much attention that she stopped the auction early. she was afraid the guy who gave it to her would find out. and that’s why she was happy to agree with the winner to cancel the whole deal.

at least, that’s how i remember the story. it might not be 100% correct, but i think it’s close to the truth.

in reply to: Arthur Appreciation Thread #17936

aw, poor manilla. i didn’t see what he posted, but maybe he was just a bit drunk?

in reply to: Machina II, who owns the original vinyl anyway? #18730

#19 should still be in the USA with the person who tried to sell it on eBay. unless she silently sold it in the mean time.

Back to the band owning: What’s with this bizarre, "Oh and Billy thinks this" and "Billy thinks that" stance?[/quote:2slpbfye]
this also bugs me. it really makes me wonder how some people look at the band.

i’m not really interested in what they think though. i focus on the music. if they want more fan participation on their new website (or whatever it is they’re trying to do), then that will be without me. i’m sure that won’t be a problem.

don’t make fun of us though!

in reply to: Me poetry, you poetry #13536

one of my favourite poems is a dutch one:
ik zit mij voor het vensterglas
    onnoemelijk te vervelen
ik wou dat ik twee hondjes was
    dan kon ik samen spelen

(i sit in front of the window glass
    boring myself incredibly
i wish i was two doggies
    so i could play together
    ;
    or something like that)
