Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorNext to that, my question would be: the blue sleeves are more rare, right? Do you vinyl collectors consider that to be influencing the collectors’ price you want to pay for it? Some of you are buying several copies of the same WLP, so I guess you must have an opinion on that one…[/quote:31biv091]
For me it doesn’t have an influence on the price. As far as I know, the Today and Disarm WLP come in blue sleeves, and the earlier ones come in black sleeves.
But in case some of the earlier ones also come in blue sleeves, then I wouldn’t pay more for one in a blue sleeve. It’s too easy to put any 12" in a blue sleeve from a Today or Disarm WLP.Anyway, if someone owns a WLP of Peel Sessions, I Am One or Cherub Rock that comes in a blue sleeve, please let us know! Same goes for Today or Disarm WLPs that come in a black sleeve.
Thanks.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorFuture releases for this year include the Pixies, Death Cab for Cutie and more.[/quote:2kuh6len]
Ooh! What Pixies release(s)? I checked the website, but I didn’t find any news on this.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectator1- what makes you think the Canadian colour switch was done on purpouse? Is there any reason to think it was?[/quote:2xdv6k3h]
It’s just something I heard. They originally wanted to do it fifty-fifty. Half of the MCIS copies "normal", like we know them, and the other half with a blue happy cd, and a red sad one.
Oh well, might be completely false.I’m a bit surprised you don’t agree with my conclusion immediately though. Aren’t both cds cds we already know from other releases (if you look at colours and matrix codes)? Arthur, can you post the exact matrix codes of two cds?
If a pressing plate/master/ whatever wears out, they just make a new one, no? And adjust the number. I thought that’s where the 1-1-1, 1-1-2, 1-2-1 and so on came from.
"Why would this happen apart from a true misplacement?" Uh, that’s what I’m saying: It is a misplacement.
Misplacements happen a lot in used record stores. Cds are taken out of the cases and only put back when the cd is sold. And at that moment (at some shops) they don’t care if the buyer gets the cds that originally came with that case. If you buy MCIS, then the MCIS is what you’ll get and that’s that.
It’s not too hard for me to see how someone took a red and a blue cd and thought that would be ok.To me, this is clearly a mixup of two releases we already know, and as a result, this doesn’t deserver its own entry on spfreaks.com.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI wouldn’t call that a misprint, Arthur.
I also have a Canadian release where the sad cd is red, and the happy one is blue (this release: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=2031). I believe this was done on purpose, and hence not a misprint. (But this is not my point.)
What you seem to have is this release, mixed up with an American release. (Obviously the pressing plant in Canada wouldn’t all of a sudden start pressing cds with the US matrix code, right?)
My conclusion: \"rare\" Canadian release with switched colours, messed up by someone by replacing the \"happy blue\" cd with a \"sad blue\" US cd. Maybe this happened in a used record store that had more copies of MCIS; and someone just put a red and a blue cd in a case, without looking more closely.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’m just very curious about what this new way of distributing music will be. We can’t really judge it unless we know what it is exactly. I mean, yeah, sure, this doesn’t sound very good, but who knows.
And I’m a little bit afraid that the format will be mp3.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatori thought they had finally arrived… well, almost… i hope it arrives soon.
i can imagine how the complete 24-shows set will look like. we know how one show looks like. so, that, but 24 times.
the artwork looks nice, but there’s no variation, i think. it’s just a similar sticker for each show, with a different date and location, and a different tracklist (well, not always, he he he).i really doubt the complete set will come in some kind of box. although that would make it quite cool, if that was the case.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI think it stands for Fuck Off Loserdude124[/quote:1t3y2vmr]
I was thinking exactly the same thing. This can’t be a coincidence. So it’s official now.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI already got one.
When I went to Berlin last month, I also wore it. And this month in London too. So I’m promoting SPfreaks internationally.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI’m also wondering who got this. I don’t think it’s very unlikely that it’s someone from spfreaks.com.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorhaven’t seen any bootlegs of siamese singles. sometimes people mix up the black vinyls of siamese singles with the coloured vinyl singles that were sold separately though.
value in very good condition: $50?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorIf you slap people in the face, turn around and walk away, when they mention \"that song Rat in a Cage\".
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorholy shit
that is some expensive shit
[/quote:2q233gtt]
holy: no.
expensive: agreed (see my first post).
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorWhy is a machine that acts like the human digestive system considered adult content? That’s beyond ridiculous. I wouldn’t mind showing that to a class of children.
Anyway, it’s art.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorcheck out his sexrays (better not open this at work): http://www.wimdelvoye.be/xrays.php

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI liked the idea of box sets and tours per era, but I guess now that they have decided they’re no longer living in the past, these plans have all been cancelled for good. The box sets might happen one day, maybe. But I don’t see them ever do a Gish tour.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorAnyone here ever run across these? Is this essentially garbage or something worth holding onto? There is nothing on it that ties it to a particular record label. It’s just this random fucking record.[/quote:b901xoek]
Never seen anything like this. How does it sound? Just like one of the official 1979 Mixes vinyl releases? Is it 33 or 45 rpm?I know that "how does it sound" is vague, but I guess you could get to know more about this record if took a closer look at the audio and compared it with the other vinyl releases and the cd release.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorso jimmy’s name is in fact \"chamberlin\" and not \"chamberlain\", according to billy.
what was your theory, arthur? didn’t you think it was \"chamberlain\"?
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorThat’s the japanese "Siamese Dream"!
[/quote:1a91u21q]
Is that a joke?
Because it isn’t Japanese. It’s the standard US release.
But maybe I’m slow tonight, because I don’t see how that would be a joke… So that’s why I ask. Just to be on the safe side.

Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorMy promo apparently was. It has a barcode on it, just like the one on SPfreaks (same copy).[/quote:1ymeoqwk]
The cd has a barcode?
Or are you talking about the barcode on this release: http://www.spfreaks.com/default.aspx?pa … &item=2075
Because that’s clearly a barcode that was added later by a store like eil.com.
No way these were sold as is in French stores at the time.By the way, I think I found why they put the tracklist of the cd on there: it was meant to be playing at the cd stores. This way, people could read the tracklist of what they were hearing, and in the mean time, check if they already got all the available Pumpkins albums.
If I’m not mistaken, the display even says something like "the cd you’re hearing is not for sale" in very small letters.
Cool As Ice CreamSpectatorI finished out my basement about a year ago, so no one really sees it except myself. My wife would not let me have this up if it was in our living room.
