those two bands (cure pink floyd) crossed my mind as well.

but neithe of those bands rock out and go apeshit. i think the tribute would neccesitate that.

my space is not what it used to be
occupied by a tenant who takes up too much room
    go away you pig
leave me be, let me breathe
    my soul
    my sole wish
    to be alone without pain
    without fear
    complete with love
    complete without tears

in reply to: WTF is an IBAN/BIC Number? #19046

    manillascissor

I need to pay a for an eBay item and the seller doesn’t accept PayPal. They want an international bank transfer using a IBAN/BIC number. Anyone ever done this? How much does the bank charge to pull this off?[/quote:201hum7s]
iban = international bank account number
bic / swift = bank identifier code

these codes are standardized, and used to make payments within europe. very easy, because now you no longer have to worry about the format of foreign bank account numbers.

i don’t know if you can make a payment using these two numbers when you’re in the united states. i imagine making a bank transfer from the usa to a european account will be expensive, no matter if you use iban/bic or another way to identify the seller’s bank account. more info at your bank, i guess.[/quote:201hum7s]

Ugh. Still trying to pay for this freaking item. BUT, I have it all figured out now. For anyone’s information, you need the following to send a payment internationally, using IBAC/BIC:

    Receiving Bank Name
    Receiving Bank Address
    IBAC
BIC – Also referred to as a SWIFT #
    Recipients Name
    Recipients Address

I’m told by my bank that these are required by Federal laws, so there is no getting around it. It’s just that the seller and I are on two different continents, so our back and forth emails take a day each. I’ve walked into that bank twice now, without enough information. But, third times a charm!!!!

    $1.50 = 1 Euro. :(

Anyway, after that last show, I’m not so excited about going to see them anymore. Small venue, themed setlists, that does allure me though.

But really, why relive the past? Why is the band doing this? Whatever happened to pushing forward?

New music, new music, new music.

I still remember back to the Siamese and Mellon Collie eras, where Billy seemingly penned a song every hour. What happened to that guy? I loved that about him. I miss that. I wonder how many Zeitgeist era throw aways exist.

    kinda unrelated… :?

but periodically i have to prune the forums. i’ve only done it a couple of times, as arthur’s informed me we have lots of space and also some of the threads contain pretty cool info or links that people may want to access later.

point being, when i do prune the forums, and thread that is deleted also deletes individual posts, thereby bringing the number down of whomever posted in it. kinda strange.

okay. MAIN POINT. i can bring bullets post count to zero if i wanted. ;)

no worries though, i’m not obsessed with the monitoring. i think the more posts, the better! but, if they are more conversational, please do it either in the chat room or the awesome bluebullet forum.

still waiting on the next clues!!!!

you know, the whole 1988/1987 thing is beyond me, as i’m not up on those early releases as well as you are arthur.

but, it would make sense to want 1987 pictures, even if the band still considers 1988 the inception. because i guess the only thing we have to go on is the first show under the name \"smashing pumpkins\" or the first recording under that name.

BUT, obviously, the group would have been together prior to either the first show or release. so there may be PLENTY of pictures from 1987, of them rehearsing, joyriding around town, smoking joints, etc.

As for lurkers and whatnot, some people lead very busy lives and don’t want to post or don’t have the time to. They took the time to register, but typically just are reading the news or checking the latest gossip. Not everyone has something to contribute, so people are actually smart enough to recognize that.

As good ole Abe said, \"Better to let people think you’re a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt\" (or something close to that)

I’m not into downloading music at all, so I can’t explain the hoarding. Shit, I uploaded my Delabel promo the day I got it. (Second disc coming soon!!!!)

As far as owning the band, there are people who pretty much think what they say is the gospel. These people are retarded. There is not much to gain wasting your time trying to figure out why they are this way. I like to just ignore them. Or, call them on their bluffs every now and then.

Just gotta weed out the morons, Dazey. :)
