….and I can’t believe the price it’s got to..

if you look at other SP promos on Ebay, they are not going for nearly as much.

    The Tao is so empty,
    So hollow.
Yet somehow its usefulness is inexhaustible
    It is so very deep
    So very profound.
    Like the source of everything.

    It blunts the sharpest edges
    Unties the knots
    Softens the glare

    It is so very deep
    So tranquil
It seems to barely exist at all.
    Its origin is unknown
    It preceded the Gods themselves.

Muse are gonna beat them to be the first band to play in space.

    :P

Billy said they wouldn’t be touring again til at least April, maybe not even anything this year. I noticed on spfc that Billy has toured, solo or with Zwan or SP, every year since 1988  except for 2006 – there were only 2 small shows.

    Soundgarden – Hands All Over

Hands all over the Eastern border
You know what? I think we’re falling from composure
    Hands all over Western culture
Ruffling feathers and turning eagles into vultures
    Yeah, into vultures

Got my arms around baby brother
    Put your hands away
    You’re gonna kill your mother
    Gonna kill your mother
Kill your mother, and I love her
    Yeah, I love her

Hands all over the coastal waters
    The crew men thank her
Then lay down their oily blanket
Hands all over the inland forest
In a striking motion trees fall down
    Like dying soldiers
    Yeah, like dying soldiers

Got my arms around baby brother
    Put your hands away
    You’re gonna kill your mother
    Gonna kill your mother
Kill your mother, and I love her
    Yeah, I love her

Hands all over the peasant’s daughter
    She’s our bride
She’ll never make it out alive
Hands all over the words I utter
Change them into what you want to
    Like balls of clay
    Put your hands away
    Yeah, put your hands away

    You’re gonna kill your mother
    Gonna kill your mother
    And I love her
    And she loves me

    softly and surely
a way to end the pain
    you killed her
    after long suffering
    the darkness took hold
    til all the words left
    were crazy
    nothing making sense
    dull and lifeless
    now gone
    in the dead of night
    her ghost returns to haunt

wow that’s quite a journey – we have monarch butterflies here, but they don’t migrate at all. Maybe a few kilometres. Lots of people plant milkweed/swan plants as it is the favourite food of the caterpillars.

That article doesn’t mention that there are 10s of thousands of butterflies that end up in Mexico – like a swarm.

As the night falls, it quietly appears
    Drifting beneath the fears
    Words for the taking
    Concepts in the making
    Written on the last page
And the sound you don’t want to hear
    When it all seems over
    When the book shuts forever
    But someone else is there
To help open a new story
To open your eyes and see
    The concept is still there
    The words replaced with care
The start of a new day
    New beginnings and forgotten endings
    Full of expectations
    No doubts or hesitations
    Out beyond the frozen ideas

It was a very impressive show, they had a very cool video screen that ‘expanded’ and stretched down over the stage – a bit hard to explain – you’d need to see a video of it.
Carbon off-setting is planting trees or supporting renewable energy to balance out all those emissions of greenhouse gases put out – by them travelling and hauling that massive spaceship around the world!

    A sense of desolation
    Brought on by hopeless agony
This end of the world scenario
    An apocalypse pretense

    Escape this delusion
    All your doom and gloom
    Fighting the truth
    Face up to it

    Time and time again
    The message is cried aloud
An S.O.S falling on deaf ears
    Wrapped in cotton wool

    All those lifetimes
    Are now displaced histories
    The islands washed away
    Lost into the sea

    End of the culture
    End of the memories
    The longest day begins
    Starting over again

I don’t know about authenticity of these, but I saw the Lull vinyl in a record store a couple of weeks ago, it was $NZ50 – so not sure how ‘rare’ it is.

    It could have been avoided
If you had given it a chance
    It could have been applauded
    With a different performance
    But it’s still the same
    This time it’s unwanted
    With you in a role
    You took for granted
    For fame or wisdom
    In another’s eye
    It doesn’t matter now
    The chance gone by
    Choose the words wisely
    Because the reply
    Will be analyzed by them
    Forever asking why
