ArthurSpectatorThanks for posting this on your site, I would be interested to know if anyone else has ever seen this item before. I regard this as the holy grail of my collection. Any questions please ask.

Well, I bet you do! I have never seen it anywhere, and I’m glad we finally have it on our website to show the world. It took a while because we had over 500 pics to check and upload, and still the list is 336 pics as we speak.Bryan, have you ever posted this on other forums like Ozphoria, Blamo, ThePumpkins.net or Netphoria? Do you know any other owners of such cassette? How and where did you get this beauty?
ArthurSpectatorBout time. I thought everyone had this, geez.

Not that long ago I wrote a little essay, and somewhere in there I wrote "but what can you expect, good things sometimes arrive a bit late in Europe".I feel, again, the very truth in these words…
ArthurSpectatorI wouldn’t mind buying that yellow vinyl for 50 euro. That would be the most I would be prepared to pay for it though. I normally don’t pay for bootlegs, but it would be interesting to have this one too, so I could have a closer look at it.
If so many record store are carrying this yellow MCIS 3LP (for more reasonable prices than what they go for on eBay), are there any record stores selling it online? If you know a place, a link would be nice.[/quote:1ae0oxrr]
I think you have a chance here. Still it’s funny that you couldn’t get a full refund. He’s probably working in an independant store, right?
ArthurSpectatorPffff, too much to mention…
A few that come to mind:
-Gish test pressing CD
-Gish US promo CD
-Gish Gold CD
-Siamese Dream test pressing CD
-Siamese Dream US promo CDAnd many many many more!

ArthurSpectatorLet me bring this in mind:

New colorvariations (pink! at least! and red!) are very welcome there to have something to compare.
ArthurSpectatorI’m afraid it is true. These MCIS vinyls only appear since late 2007, and look brand new, just pressed a little while before. You can see that on the sleeves and on the booklet also. No official shop has it, or can order it for you, as it’s not official. It only appears on the internet, on record fairs and inside doubtful shops where you normally find many more bootlegs of other bands also. So whatever information they give you, be very careful.
But it is indeed a welldone pressing. I can understand that some collectors, that have the genuine numbered MCIS vinyl release already in their collection, wants to have it just for fun, for a cheap price. Other collectors are being fooled, and that’s exactly what these bootleggers want: to rip you honest guys off. I feel sick when I think of this.
ArthurSpectatorI just found the Gish remastered promo (code VJCP-25129) from Japan! Hiha!
ArthurSpectatori just bought one from argentina on ebay. will upload it when it arrives. but this could take a while…[/quote:vi0k5r9p]
American Gothic from Argentina? Wow, cool find. Lemme start checking also…
ArthurSpectatorAs always, Jimmy’s drumming is amazing. Thanks for link!!![/quote:3upiwrjt]
You’re welcome. I downloaded that full rehearsel from Zomb a few days back in FLAC and also in DVD format, but I converted them to MP3 for your listening pleasure. I thought a few of you guys might like this funny stuffs.
ArthurSpectatorHahaha!
I just relistened to Take 3, and in the first minute, between 0:30 and 0:45 seconds, Billy is singing like a guitar to Jimmy to show what tone he means. Funny!
ArthurSpectatorHey Sparky, welcome man. And thanks for your email! You explained the feelings of the average innocent collector pretty well, so I thought it is worthwhile publishing your message here also, including the follow-up action you have in mind. Hope you don’t mind!
I think it would be a good idea to ask about the background of the boot. Where did it come from, where was it pressed, how and where did they order it and from which company did they buy it? How many copies are around, in what quantities could it be ordered? You can tell the seller it is not on the official ordering systems, so how the heck did they get it anyway? Would be very interesting to know. But you can expect some dodgy behaviour I guess…
I would feel pretty shit also knowing this MCIS vinyl was a boot, expecting it to be the real thing. Good luck Sparky!
(which reminds me of a boot cd I once bought in 2000/2001, the \"Towers Records promo\". Boy, did I feel being ripped off when it turned out to be a home-made CD-R…
)
ArthurSpectatorAn incoming email of today…
\"Subject: MCIS bootleg!! aaaah
Thanks for the info on the bootleg vesrsion of Infinite Sadness. I just picked up a copy here in Rotterdam, Netherlands thinking I picked up an original. But turns out I got the all yellow vinyl version without the number on the front sleeve for 50 euro. It was too good to be true. I’m gonna go back and tell the guy at the record shop about this indecency.
kind regards
Chris Parkes\"
ArthurSpectatorFez, can we have 2 decent pics of those 2 promo posters? I’m almost ashamed to tell you, they are not on SPfreaks yet!
ArthurSpectatorI prefer listening the version i have. Probably because i was there, and remember this…
[/quote:4q483c4o]
Sure, that’s understandable!
ArthurSpectatorhi bryan,
you don’t need to send your scans in anymore. the australian american gothic has already been uploaded.[/quote:1iubdjtr]
Tsss, you 2 crossed… Bryan already send them in, and I was about to upload them. However, Bryan, thanks for your help!

This was, as could be expected
, performed in my home country in 1992.
ArthurSpectatorLove Gossamer…
I’m actually listening Gossamer (live at Oeiras Alive, the concert in Lisbon last year…)[/quote:iqiatsmr]
Funny, yesterday I did the same, repeatingly listening to Gossamer from the Rock am Ring Germany performance… awesome version, with that Scorpions guy playing with the Pumpkins!
ArthurSpectatorWell, so far i have gotten 3 copies of it. Going back tomorrow to get 1-2 more. ( My Father-in-law spends BIG BUCKS there, so they know my face.) The guy that works there said i could have a few more. So, ill have a few extra if u need one. Let me know[/quote:2h7c9czj]
toad32r, I missed this one completely! Glad you emailed me anyway!
ArthurSpectatorI play Bubble Breaker on my pda, does that count also?
ArthurSpectator
ArthurSpectator… The "epic" songs you know? And I think Adore is brilliant. … [/quote:1oyc0ywk]
Yes I know. Also United States, or Gossamer, or the new version (late 2007 tour version) of Heavy Metal Machine, I Am One with the long rant in the old days… I love it. And Adore is indeed brilliant, it had to grow on me when it came out, but yes, Tear, Pug, Ava Adore… awesome. We seem to be almost on the same level when it comes to the Smashing Pumpkins, cool.
ArthurSpectatorYeah I very much agree darcysiva. I’m hoping the plans of Billy will get through later this year, to get back to the roots of the Smashing Pumpkins and play that stuff again. I’m definately going to see that \"Siamese Dream Revisited Tour\" gigs somewhere!
But did you ever ask yourself the question \"Why is Siamese Dream always the album to compare?\" I couldn’t properly answer that question… It’s just fucking great. And incomparable. So I try to see each other album on it’s own.
And my favourite lines of Soma would be \"Wrapped my hurt in you And took my shelter in that pain The opiate of blame Is your broken heart, your heart\", and when I put on Vieuphoria DVD to check that song… brrrr….
And your Mayonaise lines are awesome too… Read again, beautiful!
\"no more promise, no more sorrow, no longer will I follow can anybody hear me I just want to be me\"
ArthurSpectatorOh man I forgot about Soma. Too many songs/lyrics are close to my heart <3[/quote:8veq4ocd]
"Nothing left to say
And all I’ve left to do
Is run away
From you
And she led me on, down
With secrets I can’t keepClose your eyes and sleep
Don’t wait up for me
Hush now don’t you speak
To meWrapped my hurt in you
And took my shelter in that pain
The opiate of blame
Is your broken heart, your heartSo now I’m all by myself
As I’ve always felt
I’ll betray my tears
To anyone caught in our ruse of foolsOne last kiss for me…yeah
One last kiss good nightDidn’t want to lose you once again
Didn’t want to be your friend
Fulfilled a promise made of tin
And crawled back to youI’m all by myself
As I’ve always felt
I’ll betray myself
To anyone, lost, anyone but youSo let the sadness come again
On that you can depend on me, yeah
Until the bitter, bitter end of the world, yeah
When god sleeps in blissAnd I’m all by myself
As I’ve always felt
And I’ll betray myself
To anyone"What else can I say darcysiva…
No really, this song makes me speachless.
