ArthurSpectatorHey Arthur
Let me see what I can find. May be able to find pic, however the auction may be too old. However, I think I know of someone who also owns a copy, I can ask them to submit here on SPFreaks.I know there are colored Today and Disarm 7" test presses. I know there are black Cherub Rock, Rocket, and Disarm 7" test presses. That’s all I KNOW exists, but I imagine the whole lot (black and colored) are probably out there.[/quote:22a06etr]
Thanks manillascissor. Also check please if I entered unconfirmed vinyl. We used to be very graphical, and why not stay that way as long as possible…And who brings in the updated price lists? Cool As Ice Cream, did you hear anything from Shawn alright?
ArthurSpectatorThis site has the top 15? rarest items (which are all CDs) listed w/i it’s own section. I agree that most of the items listed on there are *QUITE* rare and deserve to be there. However, do you agree with the list? What about vinyl or cassettes?
I’d throw in there somewhere the Siva cassingle and Tristessa 7" red vinyl test press. Just thinking of owning the latter makes me salivate. Just a little.[/quote:3jt62g0c]
Good one, as the cd section was till recently the main part, now times have changed for the better. All good suggestions on all sections will be rewarded. Posters, clothing, everything.2007.10.15 at 2:58 pm in reply to: For the freakin’ country collectors: Zeitgeist CD by country #2536
ArthurSpectatorF@ck it works!

ArthurSpectatorYes eBay. (quickie from MY see if pda on hotspot works)
ArthurSpectatorI was a regular over there and it’s been down for quite some time now. the chat room still worked for awhile, but now it’s dead too. That was a great forum…hope it comes back soon.
is there a chat room here on this site? me, budspencer, believe, persianbellydancer, lynet, and dougydarkangel from over there are still trying to find a decent place to chat every day. hehe[/quote:1jrs448r]
Hey welcome here ghostchild1979! Sorry no chatroom here… We had been thinking about it, but this feature was never implemented, as we expected no users. We *vaguely* have a major update to a full CMS website in mind in 2008/2009, so we might reconsider this feature then. But we got other priorities now, as we are mainly running a graphical SP collectors website here… Hope you understand. When you speak to persianbellydancer again soon, give her my warm regards! She contacted us a few times in the past, and she still has a few things to send us if I remember well… Maybe I’m wrong…
Anyway, it’s a shame that ThePumpkins.net disappeared. Wonderful website, great people on there. Of course they are all invited here, as this board is still small and cozy compared to Murder’s place, but I rather see ThePumpkins.net come back. Fingers crossed…
Have fun here in the meantime, ghostchild1979!
ArthurOh by the way, did you have trouble with that other account "ghostchild", can we delete it? Or are you going to use it after you activated it? We like to have an honest number of members on here… No pumped up figures!
ArthurSpectatorAnyone heard anything about Pumpkins net yet?[/quote:130ic344]
Welcome on board pierowmaniac. I’ve just send the administrator of ThePumpkins.net an email on behalf of the SPfreaks, asking him if he has news. Keep you posted.[/quote:130ic344]
No reply yet. Instead on my side the maintenance message has disappeared on http://www.thepumpkins.net and a standard IE error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" appears. Pinging the website address returns "Ping request could not find host http://www.thepumpkins.net . Please check the name and try again.".I’m getting very worried now. Being down for maintenance for 1 month now is… kinda long. Hopefully Murder got it all under control… and returns with his website soon.
ArthurSpectatorShow some more spirit guys. This attitude will get you nowhere. Ask lilkitn what to do. She trusted me with her very first private demo’s a while back and now she is all over the place, advertising herself and practising even harder to reach her goals. I’m proud to have had my little share in that. I’m pretty sure you can do the same. Do not \"wait till later because everything will be better\". Start now and give ’em hell.
These guys from my country (12-16 years old) did also, they started a metal band called One Bullet Left exactly 1 year ago & see where they have gotten so far. Beyond the cuteness stage I think anyway. But instead on Dutch tv, and done several metalfest gigs also. And they opened for Megadeth when they toured The Netherlands, and are recording their first CD as we speak.

ArthurSpectatorim sure you dont want just a pic of me posing it[/quote:2ejtd14s]
I do not think of "posing" when we find a pic of you getting a signature on your Zeitgeist copy by Ginger, wearing the shirt.
ArthurSpectatorBy the way, TONS of people asked where i got my SPFREAKS shirt, and where to get one, or if i had some to sell. There should be some ppl joining the site soon!![/quote:3sifrlpe]

ArthurSpectatorHere is already a pretty sweet online review.
\"Subtlety lost on piercing Pumpkins\"
ArthurSpectatorI mean, if you would record the 16kHz track to cassette and then transfer it back to a digital file, will it still cut at 16k? Or does the cassette add some noise that possibly changes this property?
I personally don’t know, as I never tried it. But if you want to conclude that only a studio master can have been the source for this track on the cassette, you have to be sure it would have been impossible to create this tape with the iTunes file, or with a vinyl rip.[/quote:r99cqxi3]
The tech guy told me this. Every tape has tape hiss in the higher regions, mixed with sound. When a digital track is cut, it just has nothing above the cut. Utter silence, no digital statistics. And a vinyl rip is rather easily noticed, same as a tape copy, as the hiss and other disturbance is "doubled up". Also ageing creates loss, which was not visible on this tape. Overall, the digital statistics of this tape were just too… good to be true. The whole tape, including Purr Snickety, contained visible traces of sound and/or tape hiss in areas where you wouldn’t expect them. However there is a point in your comment which was not that clear in the report. Purr Snickety is a track that hardly comes (or even doesn’t come) above the 16,000 Hz by itself. It was the overall listening experience of 3 people, combined with the digital analysis that made us realise this tape was pretty cool and of an awesome quality. Presuming it is not a hoax tape, and Purr Snickety was only available after 2005 from iTunes, the only source could have been in the studio. Meaning this version of Purr was the best one available between 1993/1994 and 2005 outside the studio. Even now it can compete with the iTunes version, as it has every tiny little sound that nobody can hear above the 16,000 Hz. I hope this clears it up a bit.
When it is a hoax tape, it’s a pretty good one. Its looks and feels are pretty right, and it even smelled right (another way to determine things, yes!). For the moment however we trust the seller to have sold a genuine Virgin inhouse tape, mainly based on his email. But the collector’s value has dropped a bit as it didn’t contain the songs from the very promising tracklist.
(I hope I told the right things, if not I’m sure the other guys will kick my ass and I will report that here soon after
)
ArthurSpectatorSneak preview guys! (sorry toad32r, couldn’t help it, this pic you took is just too cool!)
ArthurSpectatorMy friend has a band, I’m gonna see if they are interested in taking me on, and if not, I’ve got a promising looking response on my site today.
Kit’n[/quote:1nhc0yyr]
My advice. Take the other band if possible. Build your own career. James and D’Arcy didn’t work out either. On a sidenote: I’m glad you go this far Kit’n, and I’m sure there’s more to come. Just practise your ass off and have tons of fun!
ArthurSpectatorah you’re voice sounds really good
quite beautiful

Agree. Her first album will have my name in the liner notes, will it lilkitn…2007.10.08 at 5:48 pm in reply to: For the freakin’ country collectors: Zeitgeist CD by country #2531

ArthurSpectatorBlack Cherub Rock 7" T/P recently (w/i 3 months or so) went for $565 US.[/quote:31p4ts6h]
manillascissor, do you happen to have kept pics of that auction (eBay) or sale? We really would like to have that on our website! And do you happen to know if there are more surfaced test pressings? I wonder if it is a good idea to have them all without pics on the SPfreaks website… Maybe not… only when there is 100% proof of their existence. Sometimes test pressings didn’t survive or went into the commercial sleeve and were sold anyway, get what I mean? Hope to hear from you soon!
ArthurSpectatorThere are still a few vinyls to upload (2 TEITBITE’s, some Zwan) and quite some CD’s also (Catherine, few more radio CD’s) but it will take a few weeks to have them on the site… because I’m gonna have a break till October 25, to go on a holidy with my girlfriend.
From my side I want to thank all people that helped and were involved with this last part of the vinyl section. There are still a few more vinyls to discover (some testpressings, Gish US release, for example) but at least we now have a nice bunch of vinyl in the Collection. I specifically want to put a little spotlight on Jeroen and Sven, they took a lot of effort to help SPfreaks out on the vinyl section. Thanks again guys!
Meanwhile the US webmaster is very busy on a project (not SPfreaks-related
) till somewhere in November. It might be getting a bit webmaster-quiet here (though I will try to post on the forum if possible), so please do make a mess here, ladies and gentlemen…
(did I just say \"do\"? hmmm…)
See ya!
Arthur
ArthurSpectatorthe postcard was also included in the "regular" (i.e. non-promo pack) release of this vinyl. i bought a sealed one, and when i opened it, it had the booklet and the postcard (and the vinyl, of course).[/quote:17sojsjy]
*Just comes back from eating a pizza after a long day working on SPfreaks…*
*Realises I shouldn’t joke with SPFC.org, it’s being punished on the spot…*
Thanks Cool As Ice Cream, it’s corrected. I was mistaken with the personal letter that came with it.

ArthurSpectatoranother "anecdote" about these gishes: apparently they stopped pressing the german CARLP16 for some reason, and started making the english HUTLP2. but some of the CARLP16 sleeves must have moved to england, where they reused them. i have a HUTLP2 copy that has a CARLP16 inner sleeve. the word "caroline" on the inner sleeve has been blacked out with a marker.
cool, huh?
(ok, nevermind…)[/quote:2l82zf77]

ArthurSpectatorI can not help you with tips, but quite some info on equipment of the (1987-2000) Smashing Pumpkins is available at our friends of SPFC.org. Check it out!
http://www.spfc.org/band/equipment.html (info behind the links on this page).
There are many musicians on this board, and at least 2 or 3 of them are looking for a band. Let them show themselves to you zenunderground…
ArthurSpectatorhey guys, dont worry, i have arrived.[/quote:3dua68df]
Finally!Welcome mister! Hope to see you back soon!
Cool thanks Arthur….great site by the way!
nice layout[/quote:3dua68df]
Thank you, thank you… Maybe my ideas, but RedWolf builds it all, he spend quite some hours in this already… I’ll tell him, on behalf of you! See you around man!
ArthurSpectatorpretty cool that this site is getting definite recognition.[/quote:34r2o880]
Talking about that… I do get lots of emails every week, and almost all of them are positive luckily. But this just came in today…"I checked once in a while your website, your website is definitely #1 tributed to SP."
That’s quite something isn’t it… Can somebody pull me from Cloud Nine please…
