jgfoxSpectatoranyone else have the book for the 4LP in the CD deluxe set and the other way around?
this happened to the sets I bought here in The Netherlands…[/quote:3kxeusfa]Unfortunately I have to confirm…
Bought the CD Deluxe Set indeed with the LP booklet. So no bonus track details for me.
The original credits in this LP booklet are even corrected with a sticker.
jgfoxSpectatorMine is #364, on a black plaque…
jgfoxSpectatoryes, I think (but Jeroen can confirm with a back2back comparison) this is the one on MP.[/quote:1armohcs]
I confirm, it is the same…
jgfoxSpectatori listened to my cd, and they used a different vocal take on plume. at least on some parts of the song. it’s very obvious. it sounds unfamiliar. weird.[/quote:3eswqvab]
The mix, the intro and the lyrics are different…
The lyrics in the booklet are cleary for the 1994 Plume. Read them while listening to the 2012 Plume and you will notice that the lyrics are ‘swapped’ in some kind of way:
1994 Plume: ‘gotta play’ in first verse, ‘what a waste’ in the second verse, ‘give enough’ in first verse, ‘give a fuck’ in second verse;
2012 Plume: ‘gotta play’ in both verses, ‘give a fuck’ in both verses.Besides that, the 2012 Plume misses the repeating outro lyrics ‘bring me down’.
jgfoxSpectatorhave you guys compared plume to the original release?[/quote:387yklod]
Not yet, but will do because at first listen the intro of the 2012 Plume did raise my eyebrows
jgfoxSpectatorhello?!
Did a quick side-by-side compare… it’s (almost) the same track, only with a different mix. Sounds like BC fooled us
All the guitar parts are there already in the 1993 Glynis, but buried deep, very deep in the mix, because the bass part is mixed up front. This was altered in the 2012 Glynis; bass in the back, vocals and guitar up front.
The ‘spacey effect’ at ~1:35 got lost in the 2012 Glynis, that’s why we hear an additional BC ‘yeah’.
Only at the end of the track (at ~3:50) the vocals are clearly different.

jgfoxSpectatorJeroen, did you hear the 2012 remix? Actually a major change to the original mix. Not like the 2011 Starla remix where changes were minor imo.
Extended outro with Billy screaming his guts out is nice

I sure did, hence the mentioning of this particular track…
Cannot call this a remix, because it really does sound that different, compared to the original.
jgfoxSpectator#1444, with its first 4 corrected…
jgfoxSpectatorThanks Sven! I’m convinced. And maybe a little more deaf than back in 1993.
jgfoxSpectatorSwapped channels are easy to see, so I sure would have noticed that…
jgfoxSpectatorBC is right…
http://stereogum.com/906011/progress-re … ss-report/It IS a different mix on the album…
Not only the mastering and all, but a different mix too…!
Check it out; they did turn the song around somewhat in terms of the arrangements and all…
Just do a back2back compare to the original album and you’ll hear it’s not down to the mastering, but it’s the mix.[/quote:1gmvsjox]Hey Sven,
after re-reading your comment above, I now understand that you hear differences in the 1993 Spaceboy album-mix and the 2011 Spaceboy album-mix.
Billy’s voice sounds a little bit more upfront and by setting marker-points I did notice some slight timing differences, but to me these findings are not that impressive and possibly a result of the 2011 remastering and remixing.
Can you point out the differences that you have heard when doing the back2back compare, because I can not hear nor see them that clearly. Thanks,
jgfoxSpectatorAnd with the MP-version we do have 3 different studio versions of this beauty…
jgfoxSpectatorAlthough I can’t stand the always ‘enthusiastically’ screaming Zane Lowe, I did gave it a listen.
It blew me back 18 years in age during that moment, so thanks for the advice!
jgfoxSpectatorThe radio show introduction says it all…
jgfoxSpectatorAlways a sad day, this day in particular…

jgfoxSpectatorAll credits go to Leo, who helpfully-as-always recorded this broadcast for me/us…
jgfoxSpectatorThat’s beautiful! Looks genuine to me. Congrats with this very-very nice find.
Bryan, does the picture on this release also have the moiree-effect, or is it a result of the scanning-process??

My copy was a gift…[/quote:ugflq7nt]
Santa came early this year??
It was so cheap, it felt like a gift??
jgfoxSpectatorOr is the venue not that good? I couldn’t tell, I’ve never been there…[/quote:aupf7tdn]
From what I’ve heard it isn’t that good indeed. You might want to get to the Brabanthallen for some livestock or a cattle-show, but not for a concert… Moohoo, like cows??
jgfoxSpectator* Mon 2/18 – Den Bosch, Netherlands – Brabenthalle
A Smashing Pumpkins gig at The Brabanthallen in Den Bosch?? Moohoo-moohoo!! Boe-hoe!!
jgfoxSpectatorI really would love to see those pictures…
jgfoxSpectatorArthur, you finally did it!! You started a real masturbating thread…
