There is another board in Italy called bcit, and don’t forget Ozphoria in Australia. And there is another board with a few 100 members, but I don’t know it’s name anymore. Something with Zero Children, I don’t know. I noticed fucknetphoria also, at first I thought it was our \"friendly competitor\" as they started just a few days before us in July 2007, but grew pretty fast for a start. They now have 125+ members, but nobody is posting anymore since midway August. Weird. I guess they blew up with too many forums to start with. Hopefully they will continue their good job soon again, it’s such a waste spending so many hours developing such a thing and then leave it…

I do post also on ThePumpkins.net, and Netphoria a few times to explain a bit about SPfreaks. ThePumpkins.net is hopefully back online soon. And this SPfreaks board… is here to stay! With your help guys, thanks! 8)

Superlordspamulon, what are you doing… sigh… not many spares left now… :P

OK luxe I know something. Post a few of your most fav. pics of Billy Corgan and tell us why you like them. Also tell us what kinda contact you had with Billy in the ol’ days back then, and what you discussed with him. And what will definately make you earn a pair: what stuff you got of the Pumpkins what could and should be scanned/photographed to be published in the SPfreaks Collection. Do it, send to @spfreaks.com">spf-contact@spfreaks.com, type some detailed info with it and 8) is yours!

Let me bring in the first few lines of Tonight, Tonight.

\"Time is never time at all
You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
We will never be the same
The more you change the less you feel
    Believe, believe in me, believe
That life can change, that you’re not stuck in vain\"

Brings a somewhat happy & melancholic smile on my face almost every time. :)

Haha no problem posting 3 times. I like this band indeed, but still I wouldn’t compare them to Smashing Pumpkins. Different sound, different style. And die-hard Pumpkins fans that flame them for being more popular, they must have a long list of bands to flame, as so many bands are more popular, or sell more records, or win more awards. What a waste of time, flaming a band because it’s more popular than your favourite band. Pffffff…

    mcr :D
the one single band who i love more than SP
the similarities between them, to me anyway, are far and few between. not that comparisable really… but there are hints of a SP influence in them.[/quote:13xqbp4z]
But I wonder why so many people start wars with them as a subject? I just don’t get it. To me they can’t be compared anyway… :?

That’s a good one BleedingTheOrchid, I like System Of A Down also. Chop Suey is 1 of my favourite songs of all times. (Another one I forgot in the Albums topic, sigh…). Nice video also. But the question is: My Chemical Romance or Smashing Pumpkins?

I think I found 1 Paris Hilton clue in the video, close to halfway. Billy and Jeff are in this funny car, you’re looking down on top of the car and an octagone mirror appears and disappears on the right side. Paris Hilton is visible in this mirror I’m pretty sure. It’s just after a quick Ginger on her bike shot. And it is just before we see Jimmy in his flaming rocketcar again.

    In this YouTube video it’s at 01:53 / 04:00.

Yup I tried. Thing is however when they heard a member called BleedingTheOrchid comes with the board, they wanted money from me, instead of the other way round. Quite some money actually. I’m saving now, untill then we’re stuck to each other still. 8)

i just remembered that spfc.org has info on these (under bootlist):
    http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/boot … oot_id=180
    http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/boot … oot_id=181[/quote:z6yd8bat]
Here you go Ally. 181 is the summary of all we discussed here about your vinyl, and another proof of this vinyl being called a bootleg in the SP community. For your information, maybe you don’t know SPFC yet, but SPFC is considered to be a very trustworthy source of information since long.

(and I’m going to use those eBay pics for the Vinyl (Non-Official) section later today, thanks Cool! 8) )

You’re right about EMI, that was mostly done in Asia, releasing SP under the EMI label. But I wonder why this picture thingy discussed here should be called a promo anyway. When I look at your pics from eBay there is a barcode and releasenumber on the vinyl. I presume Ally found exactly the same in Australia.

That barcode doesn’t make much sense for a full promo release. When such a vinyl release was made as a commercial release however (and maybe stamped/stickered promo somewhere) then the Pumpkins wouldn’t allow leaving tracks off. Just my guts feeling, that adds to this thing being a bootleg. The standard double (!) vinyl of Machina was released with Speed Kills as a bonustrack, that’s what I mean.

And it’s nowhere to be found in the official discographies either, this picture vinyl disc. Nice try, but no.

Thanks guys. Next to your very explicit \"quality\" mark on this obviously bootlegged vinyl release let me add my 2 cents. Why is the tracklist incomplete? That is so… un-Pumpkins. The bootleggers just skipped Try, Try, Try, went on with Heavy Metal Machine, then skipped Glass And The Ghost Children, and had no room for With Every Light, Blue Skies Bring Tears & Age Of Innocence. The Pumpkins would have made it a double vinyl release and add bonustracks instead of leaving tracks out. Now I see the pics I remember seeing that before also, and I must say: they put a lot of effort in it to make it look genuine.

Don’t be fooled however Ally, these guys above have tons of knowledge. I highly trust their opinions personally. Thanks for contacting us, come back any time.

There are 2 other reasons why I don’t exercise.

    1. As David Lee Roth once said: \"I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.\". I had the same problem.
    2. When asked about his personal recipe for old age, Sir Winston Churchill used to answer: \"First of all: No sports.\". Winston Churchill is my hero.

You must mix me up with BleedingTheOrchid I guess, he’s 40 years old. OK I admit it I’m 40 too, almost 41. Geezz, I never thought I would tell anybody here on the board. Thanks luxe, you made me say it. :P

Anyway, maybe that’s why I’m into the Smashing Pumpkins so much, because Billy Corgan and I are just a few months away from each other. He does all the crazieness and things as a substitute for me. Kinda.
